I also would like to make mention that once the box does arrive here in Oklahoma, it will be making a day trip with me up to Oklahoma State University to the NASA Educator Resource Center. There will be a few items added from there as well. |

Rodrigo,This started out simple and has evolved into a "round robin" where the package goes in sequence to the next person on the list, (in the order they have asked on this thread to be included) That next person may take a few items from the box which they are interested in, and then is asked to add a number of their own extra goodies. The concept is "one man's (or woman's) junk is another man's (or woman's) treasure" kinda thing - where people pass along some of their spaceflight items (that they may no longer need or fit with their collection) to others who may want them..... ------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

Alright, I give. I was fighting the temptation to join in on this grab BOX thing....but if I live long enough, I would like to have a shot at it.Sorry that I don't know how to add my name/address to the list....I suspect it will take a couple of years for me to get to the top....but then it takes that long for Notre Dame home game tickets for us locals. Take anyone's email reply to spaceman1953@go.com on how to add a mailing address to the list. Many thanks. I will begin assembling what I have to add. Gene Bella South Bend |

Wow, I'd like to get added to the list! I in fact do have some items I would like to add to the box (when it finally arrives). Let me know how to get on the list and how long the wait is. This is an outstanding thing to do. Good job guys. -Rodrigo |

OK, it's been a good day for two reasons... the box arrived(!), but also, a co-worked just got back from Moscow and brought back a small vintage Sputnik model for my display!I reviewed the box contents and only removed a few things. I added several DVD movies, space-related books, a Sonic Cruiser and 7E7 Dreamliner lapel pin (I know they're not stricly SPACE related but they were only available to those of us who work on the program and someone might like them), a couple of moulded resin astronauts, some magazines, and numerous other things that I will leave for folks to discover. It is worth noting that NONE of the items that I put into the box to start off this whole game were in the box. That's right, NONE of the original items made it through the journey this far. All of them were picked up by someone at some point during this box's voyage! It's a good feeling to realize that all of my "extra" items have found a home. There's some great stuff in this box and those of you still waiting are in for some fun when it arives... ------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

Just an update.... The box was shipped a few days ago but is expected to take a bit to get to the next destination in Canada. I sent it by the 7-10 day rate because the only other shipping choice would have taken almost a MONTH! It sure slows things down when the box changes countries...------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

I do not know if it is too late to send the box somewhere. I am a teacher in Texas who has an Einstein Fellowship in Washington DC for a year and will be heading back in June. I have some things I could throw in too. Am I in?------------------ Naveen Cunha |

Since NASA was nice enough to send me a small pack of the updated STS 114 crew photos for our Challenger Center Exhibits, I will add about a half dozen of them to the grab box when it arrives along with a half dozen STS 95 crew photos. |

Skippy,There's a few of hus "Europeans" on the list. I'm number 15 and Kirsten in the Netherlands is number 16. It might be an idea if you are going to be added to the list if you could be "bumped" up to somewhere just after me as it would be good logistic planning for it to go from me to you before going onto the continent. Might even bring it up to Aberdeen myself!! Could be a good excuse for a few beers Cheers, Derek

Might be worth adding an "e" next to the Europeans on the list, Machbuster is only 2 hours away from me and I'm not sure but the tartan terror (10mins) may be interested if he knows its in the area, Ie 3 Birds could be killed with one stone!Next some one is going to suggest holding a Geekfest with the grab bag, But I would suggest it goes to Rob Pearlman or Ken Havokette (or similar) so that this side of the pond might see some quality / rarer items. Skippy, it has just been to Ken Havekotte, but his wonderful items may be watered down by the time it gets to Europe. Again thanks to Ken. Talk with Sheila as its gets closer, and maybe she can groupmore Europeans together, and maybe put Rob up ahead of the Europe mailing. |

Ok Grabboxers, here’s the update and info--- Poolman18 (current holder as of 12/7/04) Hart Sastrowardoyo DavidH Kpamke astpexhibitor Housedadx4 andthekids Aztecdoug Larry BoogerBill Spacekid2 Manilla Jim Bruce Moody Machmanbuster (E) Kirsten (E) Jacques van Oene (E) Ben Robert Pearlman John K Rochester Daveblog Spaceman1953 MrSpace86 Dennisl BrianB 86horn SkippyinSpace (E) DGeraths
Poolman18 got the box on Dec 7th. It needs to be shipped to Hart next, please let us know when it is sent and received. I would also really like your thoughts on the “Pond Jump” of the box. From a previous posting, I see Machbusterman, SkippyinSpace, and the Tartanterror are local to each other, so would think this could be a short stop to knock three off the list. Would everyone be ok with a cut-off date of Jan 15th for sign-up for Europe? Dana, you are on the list now, but if you are sending any of your awesome full scale creations, make sure they will fold up very, very tiny to fit in the box! As a reminder, please use some form of online tracking when shipping! DC via USPS is cheep and UPS provides it for free! Happy New Year to All!!!! Sheila Spacebug

UpdateThe box left today for the next person ( Hart) . He should receive it in about one week. For information...I had asked Hart if it could make a side trip to another member in Canada and he accepted. This was to cut down on the freight and custom charges. The "Box" is enormous. Being over the Christmas break I thought that I would wait till after to send it. David |
