Funny you should ask! I just picked it up at the post office on Friday (May 9)! Sure takes a long time to get across the pond. It's a great box, well worth the wait. It'll be on it's way back to the UK in a few days (to Nick Deakin). Liz |

It's still on it's way to Nick.I sent it via slow-boat postage (still cost over $20USD) back to the UK. It'll take 4-6 weeks to get there. Liz |

If everyone can do less than a 1 week turn around (open it, check it out, close it) and then ship it off to be recieved to whom ever is next in line within 1 week, that might expedite it's journey considerably, and might be more fun to track.Just a thought... Rizz

Hi Folks,If you look all the way back to the origins of the grabbox, you will see that I decided to send out the box after I had received it from Jake. That was back in January. The box went to Rizz in Hawaii and from there it has journeyed about some. I would love to know where it is now (Nick if you can hear us?) and what people have gotten from the box during it's travels as well as what might be inside it now? ------------------ Larry McGlynn A Tribute to Apollo www.mchinsure.com/Apollo |

kudo's to Larry for having the idea of passing the box along... I just wanted to pass along a few things that I was no longer using in my displays but were still nice items..... Larry's idea took on a life of its own and that seems to support the "community" nature of this website....------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

Seems to be 3 grab boxes which are "circulating" now: firstly the original one started in the US which is seemingly now in the UK, secondly a student one in the US and thirdly the one started here in Europe by miracoli, which is with me here in the NLs right now. I was supposed to send it to the UK or Norway ? I'd like to participate in the first "US" bag, too ! Won't keep that one this long here with me, I promise I have some National Geographics spare. Richard, where are you ? US, Europe or elsewhere on this planet ? BW, Kirsten

Is 105 replies a record? Perhaps there could be a free grab bag that stays in Europe/rest of world & one which rotates in the US/Americas? |

.. not to throw a monkey wrench into this thing but, Philip..when you get it from Nick Deakin.. send it to Frederic Janik first, then Frederic to me in the US.. that may save some time, postage, and once it is here in the US the next three names are all in the States.. Is that acceptable to all on the list? |

Is there any way to sign up for the U.S. grab bag? I'm just very curious about what all is in it. In any case, I'm sure I could add a few things.[This message has been edited by Richard (edited August 30, 2003).] |

Since you cannot locate Philip, and looks like John K. Rochester is next on line, perhaps honor his request and send it to Frederic Janek and we'll keep it movin'
Just a thought. Lots of people on the list are waiting.... Rizz

Hi everyoneHaven't received the box yet; however I need some help to decide to whom I shall send it afterwards. There are three options: - John Kuel in the US, to respect the order set by the list - Philip in Belgium, as he unfortunately missed his turn and he could catch up - Kirsten in the Netherlands, who would like to take part in this as well and who thinks it's easier to get it before it flies to the US.. I don't have a problem in sending it over to America if needed. So what do you all say? Frédéric Janik |
