Hello Fellow Collectors! HI, I am New to the GREAT site, but be assured that I have, and will, be able to give a lot to it! WOW! what a GREAT IDEAL and concept of the "GRAB-BOX"! Many, Many thanks to JAKE and RIZZ and all the others that have made this happen. Have seen this box go from many curious hands and Countries to the open, and earger learning minds of students wanting to know more about SPACE! Don't know where, or how I can get on this Wonderful List, but my Pile of "TREASURES" from the past 40 Years of NASA keeps growing...By the time the box arrives, I will have the "Best for the Rest"...Please let me give so that others may learn...Please record my e-mail and "Snail Mail" addy to add to the list. Best Regards, Bill Cope wccope@verizon.net 555 East Fork Road Williams,OR 97544 |

Hi everyone--Put me on the list and I'll be happy to include dozens and dozens of other space items, including many flown pieces, autographs, old memorabilia items, and much more. My address is: Ken Havekotte, 570 Sunset Lakes Dr., Merritt Island, FL 32953. A great idea that reminds me a little of my prior "flown memorabilia" care package just for the asking a while back. |

Richard and Steve,Did you guys meet up and switch the box at the show as planned? I'm a couple names down the list from you and have been building up a pile of stuff to add when it arrives. p.s. It was great to see Larry McGlynn at the show in L.A.... This whole "pass is on" was his idea - to have this box begin a serial journey after he initially got it from me.... ------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

Yes, I received it from Richard at the show. Richard, very nice to meet you. I have it now in Wichita, and will try to forward this weekend. I'm going to send it next to Ken Havekotte as I believe he has some nice stuff to add, then it will go to Sheila aka Spacebug. See my posting below for latest status and circulation list. I'm no longer reachable in Browns Mills; when the time comes, e-mail me for my address. That way, I can be sure to check my P O Box! (I picked up my mail a few days ago; in it was a package postmarked Sept. 4. Okay, so it's been a while since I last checked...) |

PLEASE NOTE: Have not received any space grabbag package as of this post and date of Sept. 30. If it was mailed 2+ weeks ago nothing has arrived. Can the last shipper tell me how it was shipped (i.e. UPS, postal service, Fedex, etc.) as it may need to be traced? There was no postal/UPS delivery on the hurricane days when the storm(s) hit Florida's Space Coast, so perhaps 2-4 days may have been lost in delivery attempts...but...I would think even a book-rate or 3rd class (if there still is one) attempt should have reached me by now. |

Steve, I'm sure it's probably nothing more than a holdup due to the bad weather they've had down there....but if someone did happen to steal it, we'll have to hunt them down...They'll pay...grrrr, torture, torture...lol!!! |

Speaking from past experience, Parcel Post is the "Redhead Stepchild" of USPS and gets shuffled to the rear when the system backs up. On the other hand, if punishment is due, there IS a nice active Lava Dome up here we can stake them to. |

Steve--Nothing yet, but let me check with my local USPS office here on the Island. Can you also provide me with any paperwork/etc. from the shipping of the package? I'm not too crazy about using their package parcel services for a number of reasons, however, you did request for a confirmation and that should help a lot. To my knowledge, and after using first class/priority services for the last 30 years or so, I've never "lost" a parcel or letter by theft. Hopefully it will turn up as I am looking forward to receiving the space-goodie box. I've already got a ton of space items set aside to include in the next grabbag shipment. Will post again soon. |
