John--Thanks and I'll check at my local P.O. as soon as I get the confirmation number from Steve. Sometimes I get mail that has a wrong street name, etc. than mine. Steve--You did mail the parcel to: 570 Sunset Lakes Dr., Merritt Isl., FL 32953? I have gotten mail addressed only to "Sunset" that has a different name; i.e. 570 Sunset Dr.," but missing is "Lakes." If someone did get the parcel by mistake, I could see that, but in having to sign for it--you would think a postal rep would not make a mistake like that. But I do know of a similar situation in Cape Canaveral involving a large cover order from Europe that was received by a different person (as the address was correct) in which he kept that shipment that even wasn't addressed to him. Postal inspectors visited the individual, also on the Cape, but he denied ever receiving such a parcel...and even signed for it, but he apparently used a different name; therefore, nothing could be done to resolve the "never-received" shipment from Europe to a cover dealer here on the Cape. Now why would someone do someting like that and not even know what the package contained--I have no idea! Hopefully our space grabbag assortment of space goodies would be relocated and soon once I hear from Steve. |

Ken- With delivery confirmation, parcel does not need to be signed. A barcode is scanned and can be tracked via USPS.COM ------------------ John Macco Shady Side, MD [This message has been edited by Apollo-Soyuz (edited October 02, 2004).] |

When you receive the box, copy this list, mark off your name, and send it to next address, Each receiptent should do the same. Thus well know who to send it to and their address. I've moved Ken Havekotte up in the list because I think he will be a good source of interesting material for those who have been waiting over a year. European members: I seem to remember a separate box being set up over there. Is that right. Where is it now? Who is keeping track? I ask this because our good friend machbusterman is from Scotland, and Kirsten and Jacques are from The Netherlands. [This message has been edited by STEVE SMITH (edited October 11, 2004).]

I think it is better to move Kirsten down the list, or My name up, that way the bag, stay's in Europe, and when it is over here, we can send it along inside Europe before we send it back again to the US....Just My opinion ------

I'll reply as unofficial editor and updater of the list ( A position that I took on voluntarily as there seemed to be no order to the list or knowledge of who was next, etc.; and I will gladly cede it to anyone else interested). It always seemed that there was wasted time in trying to find the address of the next person even though often it had been posted way back on the thread, so thus I added them.I've only posted where it had already been noted on this thread, or so requested of me. One person asked to have his address removed and it was. I'll gladly delete anyone who so requests. No harm intended-this thread and its activities certainly should be a source of pleasure, and not one of concern. [This message has been edited by STEVE SMITH (edited October 21, 2004).] |

I have held back from adding my name to the list as I was moving. Now that I have a new address, I'd be happy to have the box come by so (at the very least) I could add 50 or so collectSPACE lapel pins to the mix (as well as a slew of memorabilia). So, consider me added: Robert Pearlman 19200 Space Center Blvd., #1231 Houston, Texas 77058 |

The box is now on it’s way to Jake. I took out an small assortment of patches, info sheets, pins, photos and covers. The Scott Carpenter Autograph is now on the wall. Also the Crawlerway Rocks and the postcard w/gantry scrap. Hardware (my first!) included a shuttle payload bay liner, small flown bracket, solar shield cover scrap, and an ASTP certificate with a small piece of foil attached. There is still O rings, bay liners, and other strange widgets to delight and confuse future grabbers. Ken couldn’t fit the Apollo 13 piece in this time, but gives us something to look forward to.I added a fat group of canceled Apollo and Skylab Launch and FDC’s; Navy Rubber-stamped Apollo recovery covers, a 1937 National Geo. Insert of the first photo showing the curvature of the earth, other early space related Geo.’s, the Special Life edition of Apollo 11, and vintage litho’s of Group 1 and 2 in business suits. A Shuttle book, Young Adult Space travel books from the late 50’s found their way in also. Last, a Space Camp teddy bear, just in case there’s a little one out there. Thanks to all before me, and to those waiting--- Enjoy!
