If it's alright I would also like to get inline for the grab box (Not the student). I don't know if I have anything intersting to add, my space collection is kinda meager, but you gotta start somewhere. |

Hi Philip, It's on it's way to Steve Kaplan in the US. I understand the sense of keeping it in Europe as a few people suggested for the sake of cheap postage, but I'm British so I can't help sticking to the original queue. I'm powerless in the face of my national genes Cheers, Matt |

That has done it ... I'll start an European bag ... sorry no UK as they don't use the Euro currency (yet) ... as they stick to the original queue ... ;-( |

Matt T is right about maintaining proper order, but it is good to get many boxes going as it is going to take time to get the box to everybody. Larry McGlynn [This message has been edited by CPIA (edited February 27, 2003).] |

Received the Grab Bag (Box) from Matt T on Friday. Very interesting to see what others collect. I have added the following: some crew photos (one autopen), some embroidered mission patches, a Space Station Freedom Info Pack, a packet of various postage stamps (all space themed,) some NASA brochures from the '80's and an STS access badge. Also included 30+ mission emblem stickers; enough for future recepients of the box to each take one or two and leave the rest to travel with the box. The box is on its' way to Bruce Moody. Enjoy! |

Hope this simplifies things...I've read back through the topic and compiled the list. Jake Schultz (started it off) Larry McGlynn Frank Rizzo / Rizz Matt Thomas / Matt T Steven Kaplan Bruce Moody (has it currently) Jacqueline Liz / lewarren Nick Deakin / spaceman Philip Richard Miller / John K. Rochester Frederic Janik Tim / tfetner Evan / nojnj Larry Tom / tegwilym There is also a student grab-gag. I think the current list is Steven Kaplan (started it off) Ben Brandon Liz / lewarren cfreeze AND there's a European grab bag, I've no idea how that one's organized, but Miracoli started it. If I've made a mistake apologies. I'd second Liz's suggestion, if you want to add your name to the Grab-bag list just copy the list from the last post, paste it into your message and put your name at the bottom. Cheers, Matt |

I've created a monster!... Now I'll throw in a twist.... Other than Tom, who has already been to my home, (sorry Tom but you got some of my stuff!) the next CollectSpace "reader" who makes a visit to my Air Museum (OK, condo) in person gets my next box of stuff that I have been putting together... I've been doing a lot of remodeling and spring cleaning. It feels good to whittle my collection down a bit - only collecting models these days. Ah, the spirit of giving...------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) |

The grab box is on it's way to Jacqueline in Wales. I have opted for a slightly bigger box than the one I received. I took a couple of things and added 5 more and it's all carefully packed for it's trip across the pond!Have fun! Best, Bruce |

I guess it doesn't count if I come back for another visit? Yeah, I don't count. Jake has already very generously given me some really cool stuff. Last night I started putting some of my pictures and photos up on the walls in my new house. I'm trying to do it in a little more organized fashion this time. My family room will be aviation, one wall of the living room will be the pre-apollo stuff, the other wall will be Apollo with my Gene Cernan poster as the centerpiece, and I put my shuttle stuff in the dining room. I'm thinking the dining room is a little cramped since I keep finding more shuttle items I want to put up! I'm saving a 16x20 slot for a new signed poster that I bought from Ricky a few weeks ago. I just need a frame for that. Other odds and ends will end up in the bedrooms. I'll post some photos of my home museum once I get it up and clean up around the edges a bit. |

My shuttle collection of artwork, posters and stuff is bigger than I thought. I might have to re-arrange some stuff again. The surround sound is up and running, and I tested it out with the double sonic boom in The Dream is Alive DVD. BOOM BOOM....Ahhh! Oh, I also added a second satellite dish to the new house. Now I get the NASA TV channel also. I spent about 3 hours watching it the first night I got it set up. Great stuff!
