No thanks to me, as I didn't know - it was a surprise to me, but a nice one, to see a photo I like so much used in this way! |

Just for curiosity sake Ed, how long did it take you to actually draw the portrait beginning to end? |

I spent a weekend on it. Leslie wanted it in a bit of a hurry |

Great painting Ed. Always a pleasure to see your work, I hope Dee doesn't look at this forum or it's no longer a surprise present. |

Dee already has the painting. She likes it very much, but was a bit embarrassed. |

This view of the LM ascent stage leaving the moon was painted for Leslie Cantwell. In the foreground is evidence of man's activities on the lunar surface. |

Another fantastic job done, that is just like the LM image I wanted and we spoke about. Can you pencil me in for one "but better than Leslie's". I don't mean that Leslie.Al and Charlie loved the portrait you did for me. |

Wonderful! Leslie is one lucky client. And Ed, you are one talented dude. I am going to have to graduate from covers and get in line for a full size baby for my office. Bravo! |

Wonderful collection of paintings! Dee O'Hara is very special (and her painted portrait too). The triptych from a year ago is my favorite. |

Very nice painting! One question, though...I thought the flame from the LM ascent stage was basically invisible...has that been added for artistic effect, or am I mistaken? |

An artist can get away with anything saying it was added for artistic effect... I think at the moment of ignition there was a visible flash, which I have 'prolongued' here to make the painting a bit more dynamic. |

Gilbert is one of the 'happy few' also, owning one of my better paintings. In fact, it is part of his exhibit on 50 years of spaceflight. See the scan a while back (April 23) on this thread. See also here. |
