Ed, you have evolved into one of the great space artists of our time. You have transformed one of the better-known images of the 20th Century into a truly wonderful, fresh and exciting work of art. |

Sir, your paintings are amazing, I hope one day you can make a second book, teaching those of us who are just mortal, how you paint, and develop your art! Thank you for sharing with us! |

Shadows indicate light coming from the right, yet inside his left leg is just as illuminated as his right leg. Shot taken in a Hollywood studio? |

Anyone else love to see a triptych of Andy Warhol's, Alan Bean's, and now Ed Hengeveld's impressions of this image? |

Are you referring to the triptych? I don't have that in high-res... I just plucked the other two off the internet. |

To mark the Apollo 11 anniversary, I completed this painting today of the LM descending to the lunar surface. It is part of the Apollo Timeline series, 16 paintings depicting the key steps in an Apollo mission. Ten paintings are completed, six more to go. |

Because it hasn't been ignited yet. The LM is still fairly high at this stage, with another revolution to go. |

No offense to Alan Bean, but I personally find Ed's work far superior to most anything space related I've ever seen. Great work! |
