There's always hope, I'm certainly liking the ideas on this thread about a bit of a bonanza in October, perhaps we should all start saving our pennies now just to be on the safe side! |

Dave Scott was the reason for my attending Autographica this time round. I think I will now pass...I have no doubt that organising such events is less than straight forward. But in future I think I will leave booking tickets until the last possible moment. Cancellations and the resulting disappointment are becoming more and more common. |

Thanks for the kind words. re Autogaphica 13 -- haven't been invited. However, I've been invited to the London Science Museum, this year -- haven't settled on a date, yet.Sy |

That's good to hear, funny I was looking on the Science Museum website the other day and I was slightly surprised that I couldn't see any special space related events advertised for this year. |

Some more welcome news, I've just seen on the Autographica forum that Scott Carpenter has been announced. Nice end to the day! |

Don't be surprised at the Science Museum overlooking the obvious. You would think they would mention on the sign beside the Apollo 10 capsule that it is the holder of the record for the fastest man-carrying object in human history (a piece of information that would interest most people) but unless they have changed the sign since I was last there....

Scott Carpenter! See, good things come to those who wait! (Given I only said that we should keep the faith yesterday and approx 4 hours later Scott Carpenter was announced - well I think with responses that quick I may become more religious!)I met him last time around and he is a great guest... anymore, or are we just pushing our luck now? |

To be honest, most of us already knew MSC was attending...He's a great guy, and always a delight to meet, but A13 really needs some Apollo personnel to give it real pzazz, IMHO. I already know of a dozen of my customers who won't be attending now (Unless a Moonwalker or CMP is pulled out of the hat). |

I guess I'm quite pleased about this as I thought I had read somewhere that the trip he made over for A10 was likely to be his last to the UK. Agree though, it would be good to see at least one Apollo guest but I guess we shouldn't rule out anything just yet. |

It's beginning to look like this will be the first Autographica without at least one Apollo astronaut. |

I didn't know either, David.I can understand that phased announcements carry greater impact for the organisers. The interest of potential attendees is sustained and continuing visits to the website are promoted. However, I know that quite a few individuals, like myself, go to great lengths to be creative in the generation of different or original photographic materials. This is quite time consuming and may need quite a bit of research. If any information is partially in the public domain ("most of us already knew MSC was attending...) it would be helpful if the organisers shared this with all intending visitors at an early stage. I trust that this will not be considered as carping, but rather as a suggestion for improvement in the way information updates are released. Andy |

Guys: I would never pass on something told to me in confidence: you wouldn't expect me to. If I were to do so, you might (probably rightly!) hold me partially to blame for you printing the wrong photos / buying a gold card etc etc.Attending Autographica costs 'The Space Station' a small fortune, as you'll know if you've seen our stand, so we're as disappointed as anyone. But spare a thought for Dave & Jason: their investment in venue hire, staffing , signers' fees, advertising etc is huge! And without them, the opportunities to meet astronauts over here would be limited, to put it mildly! |

I have to say I'm not that disappointed with the line up such as it is. True there have been better but as a newcomer to collecting this event is giving me the chance to meet a few astronauts I've not met before so I'm really looking forward to it. |

I like Andy, do research the photos and try for something a little different to have signed. So with that in mind I am sending out an appeal to all you fellow cS's. I seem to be having difficulty locating nice TM-11 and TM-12 imagery (hi res) to have Helen Sharman sign. Are there any obvious places that I am not looking? Any help or direction would be much appreciated!! Also I must back up Paul23's reply... although I have been collecting a while, I am looking forward to the current line up and would always show my support for the shows and go anyway, even if I already had everyone attending! The more of us that support to these events the more likely we are to see the return or even a first timer coming across the pond to meet us. FWIW. |

Due to just buying a new house that needs weeks of DIY, I will not be able to attend this Autographica, and so there will not be a Moonpans table.I know some of you had planned to pickup some 16x20's from us at the show, so I have made a page where you can get them online, which you should receive in time for the show if you order before April 10th or so (for UK orders). I will hopefully be adding more photos soon. This will be the first Autographica we have missed in 5 years, but we should be back for the next show. Thanks Mike Constantine http://moonpans.com |

I was wondering if there was anyone attending Autographica that could get a poster signed by Helen Sharman for me. I would be willing to pay you for your troubles or help out with US shows. I usually attend most of the shows and also see a lot of astronauts throughout the year. Please e-mail me if you can. Thanks Charles |

Was this the cruise they were supposed to be on: Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) confirmed today that it is necessary to cancel the upcoming April 18th and May 8th cruises of the 700-guest Seven Seas Voyager in order to make the necessary repairs to one of its pod propulsion units. |

That's why he is attending Autographica as he was due to be on the cruise with other astronauts so their cancellation was timely.I am sure you will all love meeting up with Charlie. Charlie asked me to be his representative for Europe when we met a couple of weeks ago, but this change of plan was announced at short notice. Dave from Autographica had been trying to get Charlie for the April event for a while, but obviously Charlie had other commitments when he tried. Now things have changed Charlie will be a big draw for them. |

On a more serious note - Although it must be gutting for those who were to be on the cruise (I hope they will be rescheduling for them)... I can only say a huge THANK YOU to Dave and the gang at Autographica for being so quick off the mark and for putting together another great guest and superb line up. I can't wait!!! |

This morning I received through the mail a colour flyer from Autographica for the forthcoming show.I often think I am losing my marbles but... Scott Carpenter was missing from the flyer and he is not listed on the pre-order autograph form either. Has he dropped out? Regards, Rick |

He is listed on the Astro Info Service website as potentially giving a talk one day. Dave was asked about him on the Showmasters website a week or so back and he said they were still finalising the fee with him so hopefully there's nothing to be alarmed about. |

With Scott there could be a double booking issue but we wont know just yet. I will try and keep you posted. As for Charlie, he is definitely coming now (big draw) and lovely guy, I will be on his table for the Saturday evening dinner. I am picking him up from the airport on Friday morning and we will be there Friday & Saturday. I look forward to meeting you all. I am likely to be found on the BIS stand as I am on the BIS membership committee too. |
