Rob, it sounds like you got lucky (very lucky :-). Since 114 they have indeed been using the causeway as an alternate VIP site, but I think you might be the second person I've heard say the bus went to the SVC by luck - or by mistake; but others said they went to the causeway as planned.I would just advise Tom to assume it is causeway for now. |

I won't expect to get to the Saturn 5 building but that sure would be great. Not only to be closer but so I would spend less time in the sun. |

quote: Originally posted by swedwards1960: This is very helpful information. There are a couple of items I was hoping to clarify prior to leaving tomorrow: 1. Since I will be arriving very late Wednesday evening (after midnight) and staying at Holiday Inn, I won't have the chance to check on how the next morning's shuttle to KSC will be scheduled (the show site schedule says "Convene at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for Tour and lectures," but not what time nor where to be ready for the shuttle transportation. 2. For the lectures, it's clear that Plat and Gold members may attend, but not necessarily whether any pre-registration will be necessary. Anyone have idea on either/both of these? Thanks.
The bus to KSC leaves the Holiday Inn at 8AM each day. Pre registration for lectures is not required. A complete schedule will be provided for you when picking up your tickets or upon request at the door or from our will call person at the Holiday Inn if you are a package holder. ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

Will there be any informal gatherings of CS folks and show attendees tonight (Thurs.?) I expect to arrive at the Courtyard Cocoa Beach by 8 pm. Also, I just wanted a clarification regarding tomorrow's show hours and the launch. Did I read Robert's comments correctly that the roads to and from the KSCVC will be closed at noon? So anyone who has not left by noon will not be allowed to leave? Sounds pretty strict but if that is the case I will be sure to depart well before noon so I can get to my bus at Merritt Square mall. Thanks for the info. You all have been very helpful as I plan my trip. I look forward to seeing you on the space coast!

If you have a car pass, you can come (and I believe, go) after 12 noon, however given the build up of traffic after that point, and the risk that the VC parking lot will fill and then close, I personally wouldn't recommend it. |

My plan on Thursday evening (after setting up over at the Debus center) is to hang out at the bar (Mambos?) near the beach at the Holiday Inn.Look for the big gray-haired guy ordering Grey Goose on the rocks in a light green shirt and khaki shorts and say hello! Mark |
