Gemini 11 Heat Shield Fragment

0322. Flown Heatshield

Embedded in a clear Lucite Gemini capsule (5x3") which is mounted, in turn, on a triangular inlaid, wooden base (7x6") with inscription that reads: "Heat Shield of Gemini 11, Rendezvous in 1st Orbit, Pete Conrad and Dick Gordon, 9-13 thru 9-16, 1966". Rare and exceptionally attractive. This item was originally from the Pete Conrad collection and realized $700 in the 1994 Odyssey sale.
