I have sent a few emails to Dick Gordon's website but haven't been able to get an answer as yet. Just wanted to check if anybody else had any luck? |

Could be that he and Linda are just unable to pick-up their emails right now... they could be on a spring vacation? |

Capt. Gordon was at the Virginia Air and Space Museum on Saturday for a free autograph signing, so he's been traveling. I wouldn't worry as he's always been very responsive. |

I always had great contact with Linda, and the photos were signed and inscribed as demanded. No problem at all. |

Can anyone tell me if Mr. Gordon charges extra as the last signer on a Apollo 12 litho or picture and what I might expect to pay? Also I would appreciate info. from experiences associated with his website. |

I am also curious to hear about experiences with dealing with the web site, as in the last two months I have twice filled out the online form inquiring about having an item signed, only to receive no response. |

Keep trying - not only did I receive a beautifully inscribed photo, but Linda was also kind enough to email me a couple of weeks later asking if I got it OK. |

I can't say enough about Dick and Linda. Two very special people. Dick really enjoyed seeing and signing my two 16*20 photos of him riding the Agena. He inscribed them: Space Cowboy. Leslie shared a great story about when Dick was standing under the Saturn V(Apollo 18) rocket at the banquet. Dick said something to the effect: "@#$@#, I was supposed to be the commander." |

I can't say I have dealt with Dick via his website, but when meeting him at Autographica, nothing was a problem for him to sign. I got him to sign my multi-sig litho which already had about 25 other sigs on it. A great astronaut for whom nothing was too much hassle. |

I have an authentic Ruffles Potato Chip bag that Dick signed for me in Florida. I don't know if you folks know, but Dick is a HUGE fan of Ruffles Potato Chips. They are his absolute favorite. I am thinking of starting a signed collection of Astronaut consumed food items. I know someone out there has that Buzz Aldrin ham sandwich from a few years back. What other folks out there have Astronaut food items... or... what do you mean... am I the only one? |

I thought this would be the appropriate time to announce that mail order requests for Richard Gordon autographs are now being handled though Farthest Reaches Inc. This arrangement is at the Gordon's request and will better allow them to focus on other projects currently in the works.Linda Gordon has asked that I advise everyone with requests in the "hopper" at this time, that they will be forwarded to Farthest Reaches for response. Pricing will be announced within the next few days and posted on Farthest Reaches website under "Custom Autographs". To start, only flats will be accepted with some exceptions depending upon the item. Dicks basic price structure will remain the same though a reasonable service fee for handling your custom items will be included. For those of you not requiring a "custom" autograph, a variety of authentically handsigned Richard Gordon photos will continue to be offered for sale through Farthest Reaches Inc. We're also pleased to announce within the next few days, the launching of a "new and improved" Richard Gordon website. We think you'll be impressed. For you flown artifact collectors out there, some new items will be added that are expected to impress, along with other new features that will make your visit to Dick's site, a most enjoyable experience. Thanks to all for your continued support... |

Does an empty Ruffles chip bag count as a flat item? |

"New and Improved"?Let's just say that it's the same Cheerios in a box that isn't dented. There will be a few new flown artifacts and some awesome replica's on their site available directly through the Gordon's. When the transition is complete, a note will be posted. |

Only if you take the time to sit on it first, to be sure it's REALLY flat.... |

Have any of the signing details (prices, etc.) been worked out for custom autographs and have any signings been arranged so far? I have been checking the Farthest Reaches website periodically since last summer, but haven't seen any details posted, other than prices are TBA.I notice no details are posted for Al Worden either. So I have the same questions regarding prices and signing times for him too. |

The Gordons are now handling their own autograph requests again. Just go to the website and send them an email. All the info is there. |

I have also been emailing Linda with no response as yet Derek, I seem to remember once before I had to send two or three emails to get a reply.Linda gets hundreds of emails a day and I think sometimes we may just get overlooked in the volume. |

I sent an email to Linda ~3 weeks ago following up a request that I'd made earlier when Dick was ill. She usually responds promptly, even if she isn't able to comply at that time. However, I haven't heard anything back so I must assume that they are busy, or perhaps there is an email problem as mentioned above. |

I have been speaking with Linda Gordon who has asked that I notify this group to apologize for her slowness to respond to the many emails and requests for Dick's autograph. She has been dealing with some health issues and this has slowed things down a quite a bit. She promises to get back to you all but it will take some time, so she conveys her thanks in advance for your consideration. ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

Good to see that Captain Gordon is still responding to requests as his prices are reasonable and he does offer a wide range of photos. With his operation being run in house then there will be delays but with his 80th birthday coming up and also nearing 40 years since Apollo 12 then it's worth remembering that he was a vital cog in the Apollo programme and also flew on Gemini. If he had commanded Apollo 18 then he'd have had even more huge collector appeal having been an CMP and a Commander on a Moon Landing Mission. I can see why guys like Al Woorden do sub out their requests to Furthest Reaches as running a website is time consuming especially when you are near 80. Al Worden was apparently on great form at Autographica recently and doing a few shows a year whilst someone else handles your signings all other time must appeal to the Apollo/Gemini guys.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to contact Richard Gordon lately? I have tried going through his web site twice over the last month with no response. I remember contacting him a few years ago through the same site and received a response just about immediately.Editor's note: Threads merged |

I've also tried to contact Richard Gordon through his website and sent him two emails, one at the start of January and one during the first week of February but have received no response. The emails appear to have reached his email address as I've received no delivery notification failure message. |

This has been an ongoing issue for quite some time. As discussed here. I gave up back then. According to this thread Farthest Reaches was supposed to handle his requests. |

I'd like to but after costing the whole trip out (travel, hotel etc) I wouldn't be left with much change from £200 which knocks it a bit out of my budget this time. |
