2019 is the 50th anniversary of four Apollo missions, including Apollo 11, the first manned landing on the moon.Spacefest X has been confirmed and scheduled for August 8-11, 2019 at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona. Ticket details will be announced later! |

We realize that these August dates may conflict with some school schedules, but with so many of our guests scheduled to attend other 50th anniversary events earlier in the year, especially leading up to July 20, these were the best dates we could find to avoid conflicts, while still having reasonable room rates at the Marriott. |

Book flights early and you'll be fine, around the £500 area is a good price. |

Answering some previous questions: - No, there will not be a Galactic Package this year, only Universal and Stellar.
- Yes, the hotel is accepting reservations at the reduced rate ($109/night). More info and hotel link/phone number near bottom of Spacefest's ticket page.

This will be my first year attending Spacefest! I couldn't be more excited to be at this legendary event. I have a question I wanted to ask some of the veteran attendees. I plan on purchasing some autographs while I am there, but I am way more interested in photo ops. Do the astronauts charge for photos or how does that work? Thank you so very much!! |

True, except perhaps for Dave Scott. While Dave can be very engaging he normally does not permit photos (at least during the autograph event) without the purchase of an autograph. |

ALERT: If anyone received today an email from us regarding seating assignments for the Spacefest Banquet, please completely DISREGARD that email. It was sent accidentally, and contains incorrect information. As most of you may know, Randy Clamons passed away suddenly last week, and while I was trying to figure out the programs he wrote to arrange the banquet seating, I must have accidentally clicked on an automated command that sent the email. We apologize for any confusion. We will send a corrected email in early July to request your seating and meal choices. |

As in past years, I will be accepting mail order requests for signatures at Spacefest. I have done this at nearly every Spacefest event thus far and have had many repeat customers. Please look at past Spacefest reports and reviews on this board for my credentials and positive feedback from customers. If you need assistance with your items, please email me directly at: stevegruber34@yahoo.com. Thank you! |

Joe Engle just found out this morning that an important meeting that he will be part of has been moved up to the same weekend as Spacefest, so unfortunately he will not be attending Spacefest this year. We know that Joe and Jeanie were really looking forward to attending this year, and they send their regrets, but unfortunately this other meeting takes precedence. We're bummed, and we know many of you will be, too. |

Very disappointing, but entirely understandable. Much as I would like to meet General Engle to talk about his past involvement in space exploration, I accept that it is more important for him to take part in a meeting about the FUTURE of space exploration. In fact, it's good to know that today's space agencies are still taking advice from astronauts who built the future we now live in. |

Although it may be true that some of the astronauts may be gracious about photo only ops, some are not so gracious. Speaking from experience, Dave Scott is all about the cash, even when it comes to photo only requests. |

Florian and I are happy that we won our friend Gennady Padalka to participate in Spacefest X. Gennady is the record holder with 878 days in space over a period of 16 years. I think he's also the first cosmonaut at Spacefest. |

Unfortunately, Milt Heflin has just notified us that he will be unable to attend Spacefest this year. We'll miss his smiling face, but we have other Mission Control and support personal still listed and attending. |

Because the question was raised earlier in this thread, we want to clarify Dave Scott's position on photo ops. He will allow his photo to be taken with the purchase of an autograph, but respectfully requests that no other photos be taken of him. Therefore, please do not make any photo-only requests to him. |

Any estimate ranges on Michael Collins and Dave Scott prices to sign photos, not signed by anyone else? Trying to budget this trip. |

Mike Collins' base fee is $450 (but only $295 to sign one of his books, if that helps). Dave Scott's base fee is $400. Full details at SpaceFest Signing Fees.Looking forward to the show, and of course I'm bringing books (I already have all of Mike Collins' books signed, but still need Dave Scott's book autographed). |

Once again, let me recommend Steve handling your items. Doing mail in would be, obviously, impossible. Steve stepped up years ago and has done yeoman's work and a true service to those unable to make it. I trust Steve implicitly, having known him for years. |

ALERT: We just posted some last minute changes to Dave Scott's signing fees and policies on our Spacefest Signing Fees webpage. His base fee remains $400, but no baseballs, no inscriptions/dates/times, salutations and missions free, postal covers $450. As before, no posed photos without purchase of autograph, please. We apologize for this late notice. |

Is anyone attending Spacefest planning to head back to Phoenix Airport on Sunday around noon? If so, do you have a spare seat? I'd be happy to contribute generously to the fuel costs. |

And conversely, is anyone flying into Phoenix on Wednesday and driving to Spacefest? I too will contribute to the cause.
