It's been known for Buzz to change his plans at the last minute.

Only seven days until Autographica! TWO Moonwalkers and excellent back-up from four fabulous Shuttle jockeys!

Just a tenner gets you in! Autographica is, without doubt, the premier UK event of this nature - if we don't support it now, it might slide off our calendars!

Will be there from Friday morning until Sunday evening with my girlfriend. Can't wait for the event and the lineup, once again, is out of this world (sorry).

It will be my first time doing the Friday drinks reception - does it take place in the main hotel bar usually and what time will it kick off? Would love to hear any of your past experiences of the Friday evening.

No: the drinks reception takes place in a private room. It's the highlight of the weekend for most attendees — you generally get plenty of time for chats/photos (although Dr. Aldrin has become a little less accessible in recent years!)

I missed Autographica last year due to ill health and now I will miss this one due to lack of funding. Oh well, can't have everything.

This would have only been my second show and would have been great to meet some fellow collectSPACE'rs and finally put some faces to names as no one really knows me on here. Oh well, maybe next time.

To all you lucky guys attending I just want to say have a great time as you never know when this kind of gathering will happen again, but let's hope it does. Enjoy!!

Of course, it's not just the astronauts that are getting old! I reckon the average age of the dealers and attenders is between 55 and 65! Carpe diem! LOL!

Very disappointing indeed, as he was half my reason for going at all. I sometimes get the feeling that some guest announcements are not quite as solid as one would hope.

In November, Aldrin cancelled only a day or two before the event. As I recall, he did the same thing a year or two earlier. Cancellations happen...

Cancellations do happen, but there is always an impressive line up either way. I for one am still very excited!

Yes indeed, that's twice in a row Joe Allen has cancelled on Autographica.

If you're looking for something to be positive about, I think I'm right in saying Edgar Mitchell cancelled two shows in a row but then attended the next two after that so all my not be lost for Joe Allen.

Personally I blame Phil Jones for knocking him down on Sunday for Liverpool's second penalty!

I'm really looking forward to the show, it should be a great weekend. Disappointing that Joe Allen had to cancel this late, but excited to be meeting Alan Bean and Bruce McCandless for the first time. Will be great to see Buzz again and if Box Johnson is in the same form as people were saying he was in at the ASF show in November then we are in for a treat.

I look forward to meeting a few more of you guys too.

Well you never know: someone might open a drawer and discover Joe Allen inside! (That reference will sort out the real space-nerds!)

The lecture schedule is now announced; same times on both days -
  • Greg Johnson: 11:20
  • Rhea Seddon and Hoot Gibson: 12:10
  • Alan Bean: 13:00
  • Bruce McCandless: 13:50
  • Barbara Bain (Space 1999): 14:40
  • SR-71 pilots: 15:20
This is the main reason I go and looking forward to this. I will be going to the talks on Saturday.

Not just any locker/drawer - they would have to know to open drawer number 51-A!

Just finished sorting out my photos to bring on Saturday, had to go through the guest list person by person to make sure I've included everything but think it's all there!

If any cSers already have a copy of Live TV From Orbit, bring it along and look out for me at the show. Also Bruce McCandless wrote the foreword.

"You can tell the world we have arrived".

Just got to the hotel, first impressions are very good indeed. Apparently Alan Bean arrived around an hour ago and my girlfriend and I just saw Hoot Gibson and Rhea Seddon walking around the hotel.

Time for a quick nap, a bit of food then down to the bar I guess ahead of tonight's drinks reception!

It's always hard to gauge numbers when everyone's milling around at the show, but the lecture room, which is the biggest I can remember seeing at any Autographica, was pretty much full for Alan Bean's talk at lunchtime, a standing ovation at the end as well!

Just got back from a day at the show and just wanted to say what a great time I had.

In my opinion, the organisers have taken note and improved certain things. Really good show!

Sunday morning!

Saturday was really terrific: big crowds all day - at one point the queue for Alan Bean was out the door and up the stairs!

Great to see so many old friends and very well done to Dave, Jason and Mark for their excellent (and sensitive) management of the weekend.
