If you go to the Autographica section of the Showmasters forum (you don't need to register to read the forums) there is a thread about five topics down called 'Guest Days and Prices' which has information about signing fees, there is also a seperate thread titled 'Apollo Astronaut completion fees and extra words' which has details of completion fees and per word inscriptions. There is also the pre-order page of the Autographica website which has a list of pre-order prices, I think they make a £5 surcharge for those so you can knock £5 off the pre-order price for the show price. |

Dave posted this on the Showmasters forum this morning regarding Joe Allen: After talking with Joe last night he has a family illness to contend with and does not feel he will be able to make the trip this September.Obviously in these circumstances your family must come first and we wish Joe all the best at this time. Joe has rescheduled his appearance for our March Show in London. Photoshoots and lecture tickets for Joe can still be used next year or you can swap at the front desk for other tickets. If you wish to have these refunded we can also do that. To compensate the loss of one lecture we have added Terry Pappas on Sunday who will be speaking about flying the SR-71. This should be a great and unusual lecture and I hope you will all enjoy attending. |

Can anyone tell me if you can have a photograph with Gene Cernan rather buying a £100 autograph? The photos are £40.00 can you get a family photo for that price? Kids and me?Don't really want to get autographs this time... chats and photos are better! Thanks. |

Potential catch 22 situation there. Despite the event name, if its just photo sessions you want to take part in, then you can buy tickets for those without needing to buy autographs. However, the rule has always been, and still is as far as I know, that for he professional sessions each person in the photo needs to have paid for a ticket so if there are three of you, you need to have paid for three tickets. The only exemption I am aware of is for what is classed as babes in arms. The other downside is generally speaking the photo sessions are more of a snap snap grin grin arrangement, the queue is usually kept moving quite briskly so there isn't really much time to chat with the guest, that sort of thing is usually kept to the signing desks. |

I wouldn't have thought he would sign his book for free at this event? I sent mine in the mail to him and he kindly signed though. |

My girlfriend and I are heading over from Dublin early tomorrow morning, and will be there until Sunday evening. If any cSers would like to meet for a drink in the bar after the dinner on Saturday night, I'll be the tall blonde Irish guy with the girlfriend who proves I'm punching above my weight. Seriously though, hope everyone has a great weekend, and gets everything they want out of it. |

Well things couldn't have turned out any worse for me, I received all my tickets for the photo shoots and was really looking forward to meeting Gene Cernan and the others too.Unfortunately I haven't been feeling well for some weeks like drinking loads and loads and putting it down to other things but on Tuesday I was rushed into hospital could hardly walk and was dizzy and from what I have been told my blood sugar level was 90 quite dangerous apparently and I have been confirm as having diabetes, which was a shock but something I will just have to live with. I am still in hospital as I write this but I have been told they might be letting me home today. Unfortunately I cannot see me driving to Birmingham tomorrow so have fun guys and enjoy. |

Can anyone tell me if the photo shoots are ever or usually oversubscribed? Might go to the show but sort of last minute dash.I haven't got ticket for the photoshoots but I would like to go to the Cernan photoshoot. But pointless making the trek if I cant get a ticket. Thank you, enjoy the show... |

As a rule Showmasters usually put something on their forum if something is close to selling out and there hasn't been anything I've seen about that being the case this time round. No guarantees of course, they could have a late flurry of sales at the show but I would suspect you'll be OK. Bally well hope so anyway because I've left buying my Rusty and Walt photo tickets till I get there tomorrow! |

Thanks will be interesting to see how many people are in the queues. I hope you enjoy your day. I am interested in discussing Apollo 9 and Near Earth Objects (asteroids) with Rusty. Never met anyone from Apollo 9 or Apollo 7 — I must make the effort! |

What a great day out. Just got in via a few local pubs (as you do).Great to see the "usual suspects" and also Alex and daughter for the first time. Shane, you are punching above your weight! (Only kidding) Hope she makes an honest man of you! Robert, disappointed I didn't see the new kilt but great to talk to you as always. Gene Cernan's talk was brilliant, what a passionate interesting and all round American hero. Although I didn't get his autograph I did manage to thank him for returning my book request in the mail a couple of years ago. If you didn't go today, and tickets are available on the door? Go tomorrow — you will not be disappointed. |

Hmmm! What to say about Autographica? Maybe I've been spoiled by memories of Autographica back in the 'good old days'. I remember my first show back in 2001, the astronauts all had time for a chat, they took time to answer your questions and had no problem posing for a photo with you.Today I just felt rushed most of the time, with one exception. I felt like I was just there to hand over my money and then move on as soon as possible. At a couple of tables they actually wanted what you wanted signing out and in a queue on the table for a speedier turn over. And now the exception. Walt Cunningham. What a fabulous guest, took time to chat to me, signed my photo and had no problem posing for a pic with me, even the lady at the table with him was friendly. That astronaut encounter I enjoyed. I would say that Edgar Mitchell, Richard Gordon and Walt Cunningham are definitely the best guests I've met over the years because I get the impression they are in it to meet the public. And it wasn't even about queues because I waited until there wasn't much of a queue. I know there has to be an incentive to get these guys over here but at the same time there has to be some incentive for people to hand over their money. Unfortunately being rushed off is not much of an incentive. And when did they start charging extra to have Cdr and LMP written! A fiver extra for 3 letters! |
