It doesn't matter who you are, if you run a business that accepts transactions and you don't fulfill those transactions, that is a problem. The money is being accepted by their business, but orders are not being sent out.

From my last comment months ago on this, I have had about three or four responses from Dot, but the responses seem to just buy time and are then forgotten. End of December she mentioned that she would get the order out after the Post opened in the new year; come Feb. 1, I emailed again asking if it was sent, and no, it was not. She mentioned that Walt would sign tomorrow, Feb 2nd. I will see if I receive a package this month, and if not, I will follow up again.

I am on the hook for a hundred dollars or so, if I was out almost $2000, I would be as frustrated and fed up, as others are on here.

Others have mentioned "be patient." I think that only allows the problem to continue with orders not being processed, as they are forgotten. If you need to follow up, you should. They are running a business that accepts and processes financial transactions that are not being followed through on.

In the past, I was one of those people recommending patience. And that's because at the time, orders were actually being processed (at a very slow rate). Over the past three years, I've ordered several items from his site. In 2019, orders were fulfilled rather quickly. In 2020, they took several months. And in 2021, they stopped completely.

Walt's health has been in decline, which has been mentioned. However, he was well enough to attend SpaceFest in 2021, sign lots of autographs, and attend the Apollo panel. If he's able to travel and attend conventions, then surely it must be possible to do the same thing from the comfort of home at an easy pace. So something else seems to be happening here.

We can only speculate. Not sure if this is relevant and/or affects the orders, but some Walt Cunningham's NASA memorabilia were stolen in 2020, see here.

I am in touch with Dot Cunningham as of earlier today and I will do what I can to resolve the issue(s). Please give me a few days and I will post an update and/or be in touch directly with specific members who voiced their concerns.

By way of a first step, the autograph and memorabilia pages on Walt's website have now been temporarily cleared to pause any new orders from being placed.

The orders still pending fulfillment will be addressed next.

Thanks Robert! I received an email from Dot today. She seemed very concerned about the confusion. I sent her the receipts again. I will keep you posted.

Just to follow up, got an email last week from Dot who now acknowledges that I paid the money. So, we have made progress! She stated that she would have to see if the items were in stock. Now waiting again.

My order has not arrived as of yet, since my last email with Dot on Feb 1st. Hopefully it's just delayed in the mail. We'll see if it arrives in a week or two.

Dot replied to me regarding an order placed last January 2021 and asked what image I selected for an autograph from Walt. I'll keep the thread updated but I have no doubt about Walt's plans to send me the autograph in 2022, from my experience he's a gentleman so no issue.

Dot replied and acknowledged my transaction in late February. I have not received the order yet.

Dot and her family were, until recently, very busy with a very large personal project. I suspect part of the recent delay has been from the logistics involved with making it happen and then the time needed to recover from it.

Without speaking out of turn, Walt has also had health issues of late, which may have also been a factor.

All I can say is that I am positive Dot and Walt will make it right with everybody who is still owed items. I know you have all given them time, but please continue to be patient.

Dot said she was checking the supplies to fulfill the order and she would get back to me tomorrow. However, that was Feb 13. I've sent two more reminder emails for an update, but no reply. Anybody have any better luck?

It appears that there is no intent to fulfill the orders or to give a refund. I am officially now irritated. A year is more than enough time. I could understand if they would reply to the emails, but that is not the case.

I met with my lawyer about taking legal action. I was informed that this may well cost me 5X the money I spent, but I'm just really irritated. I sent another email on the firm's advice last night, but again, have not heard back.

I hate that I'm going to have to take legal action against an American hero and someone that I respect, but this is just not right. If they refund the money or send the items, then all is well, but at this point it doesn't look like that will happen. This will take some time, but I will keep you all informed on the progress.

I had the same experience of ordering from Bill Pogue's website shortly before he passed away.

I never received a reply to my emails, my items or a refund, I wrote it off. Sad but Bill was a very nice man and I will not let this one bad transaction alter my love of collecting.

I can understand if you order and someone passes away shortly thereafter. However, this has been over a year. Since then, he made a trip to a collectors conference and his wife Dot is also engaged in the mix.

Just so you understand, this is not just me, but quite a few other people. I will not name them, but they have reached out to me over the past year with similar complaints. If this was a website in Russia, one would call them crooks and steps would be taken to warn others not to engage in commerce with them. Instead, since it is Walt and Dot Cunningham, some continue to make excuses for their actions, including the moderator of this website.

Please try to convince me that Walt and Dot Cunningham are not thieves. People, including me, have purchased from them. They took the money and have not sent the items and have not refunded the money and they are unresponsive to inquiries. Dot also tried to tell me that I never sent the money. This was after I physically mailed the receipts and then sent them by email as well.

This is not about the amount of money. It’s now the principle of the matter. It’s really irritating to see someone cheat people out of money and expect it to be OK.

Chuck, while not on the topic at hand, since early 2014 I don't think Bill Pogue was at his best with some of his website orders, but did the best he could.

If your order to him had not been filled, Chuck, let me know what items were ordered and I'll see if I could help you with any of them from my own Pogue collections.

Just got off the phone with Walt Cunningham. He was very nice and is going to sort out the outstanding orders, so it looks like everyone’s going to get their things. He couldn’t have been nicer, and I now believe that he is trying his best to get all of this sorted out. So, a big apology goes out from me to Walt, Dot, Robert and cS.

Have you had any success yet?

I've been waiting by the mailbox for 17 months. As I said before it's not a big deal nor will it break my heart if nothing arrives, though I’m curious as to whether anyone has received anything from Walt recently.

I haven’t heard anything since my conversation with him. This is really disappointing. However, I have been slammed over the last month and haven’t given it much thought.

I will give him a little more time and will email him again. If still nothing, then I will just give home a call and find out what is going on.

I’ve had quite a few emails from the group wanting to know the status of my items with Walt. He assured me that he would send the items after our phone conversation and like an idiot, I’ve been checking the mail for months. I emailed him again, but no response. I just sent another email and hope to hear something, but after well over a year, this is getting damn irritating. I can’t really put all the blame on him as his wife Dot has also been involved in this.

I will let everyone know what happens.

They need assistance. I heard that even in the past it (occasionally) took a few months to receive an item from Walt.

It certainly sounds like people have had legitimately frustrating experiences. I was getting quite worried after sending a package back in April (I was composing a polite but firm follow-up letter in my head), but yesterday I received the package back with everything signed just as I requested.

Just thought I'd mention that sign of progress... but then I know it doesn't really help with your items.

After the phone call, he seemed that he was going to fulfill the order and promised that he would. Nothing happened and no replies to emails. This is incredibly frustrating. I think that he has basically said screw you to all of us.

It must be an age related issue. Before I placed my order I had received confirmation of availability. However, in the last reply (August 2022) Dot stated that some of the items may not be available. I offered to change my order. If possible, please call Dot or Walt again.

It’s been almost 2 years for me, thankfully I only placed an order for an autograph so I'm not that far out of pocket, it's just disappointing that the order hasn't been fulfilled nor has a refund been issued. Considering Walt's stature I'd have presumed he'd have been aided with amending the issues.
