How many Aussies do we have on this website?I am prepared to start an Aussie version of the famous Grab Bag. Happy to cater for children or adults or both. Let me know if you are interested and we will get things under way. |

Obviousman, the grab bag is a box of space memorabilia sent between collectors. In the tradition of the long running U.S. grab bag you make a contribution from your collection and take something of equal or lesser value. If anyone can correct or improve this description please do.I can report the Grab bag is back in Australia - it arrived at my address today. I'm impressed with the quantity and quality of collectibles in it! I'll have a good look at it over the weekend and be ready to forward it next week. Who's next? |

The famous Aussie Grab Bag has returned from its travels around Oz and NZ.I hope all who took part enjoyed the experience and found something of interest. The contents are quite different to when it started its journey. It seems someone (perhaps Colin Burgess?) has added a nice copy of Selecting the Mercury 7 signed by Colin. I will add a few more goodies and it is ready to go again. Who's next? |

Last call for the Aussie/NZ grab bag. I know there are more aerospace enthusiasts/collectors in Oz and NZ than have taken part in this. Come on folks, here is your opportunity for a bit of fun and you will probably find something you want in the grab bag and you also have a chance to pass on duplicates to other collectors. If no interest, the contents will be given to a worthy home such as an Australian Space Education Facility. Come on folks. Enjoy this! |

While I am not a space collector of items I think this is a great idea and hope it gains some momentum. Over here in the west we are somewhat off the beaten track but we do have the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum and a few bits of Skylab laying about. |

As mentioned by Ian the box is now in my care. Gonna be tough choosing my item. Some cool stuff in there for sure. Also thanks to Ian for showing me some of his amazing collection. I've never seen such a collection. WOW. Very generous. Ian was kind enough to gift me a couple of books which will be well looked after. |

Hi guys. I live in southern Sydney (in a small suburb called Narwee) in NSW, and I definitely have interesting stuff to contibute to the Aussie Grab Bag. I can pick up the box from any place in Sydney, if it is still around. Could someone please confirm where the bag is at this moment? |

Heading to Macquarie Uni (then back to my apartment in Surry Hills/Darlinghurst). Not sure who is next in line for the box, but you're probably the closest...Is there a rule about how the box circulates? First come, first served? Closest proximity first? Possessor's choice? Something else? |

Usually in order although if there are two people in the same area (or near each other) it would probably make sense to do both then send it on its way.Hope that helps. Enjoy! |

The box has not yet arrived at Macquarie (at least not as of Thursday afternoon). Checked tracking, and last update was on 16 Aug. (Tuesday), at which point it was in Chullora, NSW. As of now, no idea where it is, as tracking has not updated. I imagine it will arrive either Friday or Monday. I'm new to AU and the postal system. Is it typical for a package to go for two days with no tracking update? |

G'day, Welcome to AU. Glad your here and I hope you enjoy your time here. Typical yes. The postal service is reliably slow. I have sent mail from the west coast of Oz to central Florida faster that from west to east coast Oz, which is strange because the post from here goes via Sydney. Tracked items seem to be in limbo at times. Relax, you're in Oz. |

I also logged in yesterday to check the tracking update. It drives me mad that parcels sit in the same spot for days.Fingers crossed the parcel/baggage throwers get it there as soon as possible. |
