The Great Aussie Space Box will be back on the move this evening (Sunday, 4 August). I have arranged to hand it off in-person to jisaias0308 (Jorge Isaias), who will pick it up, then ship it to the next person in line.If you're in Sydney and are in line to receive the box, please reply to this post so Jorge knows who to pass it along to next. We have liftoff! The Aussie Space Box is on the move again, and is now in the hands of jisaias308. Also wanted to mention how nice it was to do an "in-person" handoff. I'm an expat in Australia, and the Aussie Space Box allowed me to meet another local space enthusiast and his wife, both of whom are also expats in Sydney. We spent two hours or so chatting about space and other things, and now we're friends! This is what the boxgrab/bag is all about -- building community!

I just want to confirm that I already have the Aussie grab bag. I had an awesome conversation with Kevin (neo1022). He showed me part of his amazing collection, and he also shared with me that his father was actually a flight controller in the Apollo and the Space shuttle programs at NASA. (Wow!)Thanks to hinkler to organise the Aussie grab bag! Before contacting Peter in Melbourne, I just want to check first. Is there any other "Austronaut" here in Sydney interested in participating in the Aussie grab bag?

The Grab Bag arrived here in Melbourne yesterday. I have only had time for a quick peek but looks fantastic and will dig into it over the coming days. Thanks Ben, I have some nice things to add. |
