Liberty Bell 7 50th anniversary patchesLawrence County, Indiana will be honoring Virgil "Gus" Grissom's first flight into space on Liberty Bell 7 during a 3-day celebration beginning July 21, 2011 and concluding on July 23, with special events to be held at various locations in Mitchell and Bedford.  Two patches, commissioned by the Grissom family and designed by artists Tim Gagnon and Jorge Cartes, celebrate the anniversary and its associated events. Both are being produced in two sizes, four and eight inches. According to the celebration's Facebook page, the patches are now available for purchase ($5 for small, $20 for large) at Mitchell City Hall (mail order forms available soon). |

Beautiful patches. I can only wonder what Tim and Jorge would have done with a Freedom 7 50th anniversary design, instead of the 'official' patch chosen. |

I think Tim and Jorge should design and produce a Freedom 7 50th anniversary patch, and a Friendship 7 and so on. I would buy one for every mission. |

The 8" patches are SOLD OUT! There are still plenty of the 4" available, as well as t-shirts with the Liberty Bell patch design on the back ($15) and coins with each design on a side. |
