Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be starting up an "image of the day" on the RetroSpaceImages.com. I have a considerable number of disc projects in the works right now, and I want to just randomly share some of this stuff coming down the pike. I will pull from manned, un-manned, NASA facilities, and even my own personal material from the past 40 years. Should be fun... and looking forward to some feedback. |

I point you to the image of the day on the Retro Space Images site: a shot of Judy Resnik prior to STS-51L.Visit the "Image of the Day" on the site each and every day, you wont be dissapointed. A poignant image given the events just a few days later. This is a disc that I am really looking forward to when it's released. I know JL is working hard to get one produced as soon as he can. Please do buy all the discs as they are an incredible archive and source of visual history. It is great investment, I own them all and go through them again and again as there seems something new each time. A better image resource I have yet to find anywhere! |

I do like these "unguarded" moments -- I wonder how much you could save by not buying lunch some days? |

Just a quick note to say that the Gemini 7/6 image disc should be wrapped up by tomorrow. Hope to have it available for purchase by Thursday. Back with an update soon.I have also been posting some interesting material on the Retro Space Images Facebook page as well. I believe you can access this material without actually being a member. |

I received the Gemini 7/6 disc on Friday and during today's ISS spacewalk have been leisurely browsing through its contents. I like to consider myself fairly well-versed on available imagery, but this disc, like all the discs in the Retro Space Images series, demonstrates how little it is I know. This disc, like the others, includes many photographs 'never-before-seen' -- at least to me! Of course, even if the familiar shots benefit from high-resolution, clean scans. My only desire would be for a better means of navigating the discs. The extensive breath of the archive is at times hidden by the sheer task of having to sort through all the files. But that's a minor concern; there's definitely something to be said about spending a few hours flipping through photo after photo, taking the time to appreciate each. Retro Space Images has again done a yeoman's job compiling these collections and deserve to be commended for their effort. |

Gemini 6/7 is awesome. I was able to cruise through all 1200 or so images pretty quickly by: copying to hard drive ~3 GB and then open as a slideshow using GraphicConverter. |

Do these DVDs have "ALL" the crewphotos of the particular mission? There are always two prime crew photos and one back-up crew photo. Then there was always a prime and back-up crew together photo and we're forgetting the gag photos. |

It is my understanding that a large portion of the "gag" crew photos from the early days were uncovered by a single source who paid big bucks for the originals. With that in mind, I have always respected the wishes of this person that they not go onto these discs in high-resolution. That is not to say they aren't "out there". Other prime and back-up crew photos are certainly included. As for the Shuttle discs, every "alternate" crew photo is included that I have been able to secure. |
