Slated for sometime in the fall, Revell is going to re-release their Apollo Lunar Spacecraft. This is the kit with a Block One CSM combined with the LM and the SLA in 1/48th scale. Perfect for an Apollo 1 re-creation. |

Thanks for the info Steve! Nice kit, the shuttle 1/72 with stacks by Monogram has also to release this year? |

Do you mean the Mercury-Atlas "Everthing is GO" - A salute to John Glenn kit? Or was there a Mercury-Redstone kit too? |

Revell did a 1/110 scale Mercury Redstone, it was only released once as far as I know. |

Revell used the US Army Redstone rocket die with a Mercury capsule insert and packaged it as the Mercury Redstone kit. The same was done with the "Everything is go" Mercury kit. That was originally issued with the Convair Atlas with launch pad and re-tooled for the later Mercury flights. |

I just got confirmation from a friend of mine in the UK who is in the know about these things that Revell of Germany is reissuing the 1/24 scale Gemini spacecraft model kit sometime early next year. It will be released in their Revell Classics kit line. It should be available in the USA as well when it comes out.I have a feeling all the Dragon pre-built and kit releases are driving the Revell reissues on both sides of the Atlantic. It is nice to see old kits seeing the light of day once again. |

For the life of me I can't understand why Revell never has issued either a 1/48 standalone CSM or a 1/32 LM to match the existing counterpart kits that are still so plentiful on eBay. A 1/32 LM would be an outstanding model for detail. I haven't seen any of the full 1/48 re-releases yet anywhere, I hope it isn't just an overseas item. It doesn't show on Revell's websites either. |

Click on 'Fall 2011 releases' at the bottom of their website. Also by clicking on 2012 items, they show the 1/48 scale Mercury and Gemini being available. |

I checked the distributor website for Revell. The 1/48 Apollo CSM/LM combo won't be out until late December (probably just after Christmas). But, it is coming.By the way, that would be MONOGRAM that didn't do companion vehicles for their kits (Revell covered it all in 1/48 nicely). Who knows the reason why exactly, although with the spindly legs of an LM, I might be a little concerned that a styrene LM in that scale could support its own weight, especially when assembled with only tube glue. A 1/48 Block 2 CSM from Monogram would have been nice, but they probably had their reasons for choosing 1/32 instead (of course, Monogram's other LARGE cutaway models at the time were also 1/32 scale). I understand Dragon is doing a 1/48 CSM kit. So, when it comes out you have the option of pairing it up with Dragon's kit, or the Monogram kit currently being offered by Revell (the Apollo 11 on the moon diorama). As for the 1/24 Gemini, checking one of the German model club sites, it looks like the Gemini is due out in January. That means we may not see it in the USA until February or March, but it IS going to be here pretty soon it sounds like. |

I am definitely getting the 1/24 Gemini - but may pay someone to build it for me. I would like a respectable detailed model and I am no modeler! |

This was my favorite kit in the 60's. I'm currently building and painting one now per the kits instructions (no additional upgrading or detailing) for the nostalgia of yesteryear. I knew the person who won the Revell contest for the full scale McDonell mock-up back home in Portland Oregon where it is currently on display at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). |

I guess that's correct about Monogram.I have one of the Monogram 1/48 LM's and have been assembling it to represent Aquarius with the proper coating patterns and such. Been a LONG-TERM process. I want to put it in a lunar surface "it finally gets there" context diorama. I intend to get the full 1/48 Revell kit and will likely do the LM as representative of a J-mission. My 1/96 Apollo kit (already built) has the LM markings of Eagle, to the extent that it's possible to do in such a small scale. |

Looks like Monogram's re-release of their 1/72 B-52B with X-15 Experimental Aircraft kit is now available. Saw it yesterday at a hobby shop in Long Island. |

I wonder if anyone has seen the packaging for the 1/48 Revell Apollo re-issue... if it is the original box or a newer version.I know when the reissued the 1/24 Gemini in the mid-90's, they used the vintage packaging. I have one of those. |

If you want to build a Block II Apollo, detail kits are available from New Ware. They also have kits to improve the accuracy of the LEM. |

I heard from a friend today that the Revell of Germany 1/24 Gemini kits are now out in the UK and Europe, in case anyone is interested. So if they are coming to the US, I would expect them no earlier than March. |

Anyone know where I can find one of the 1/24 Gemini? The two links on this thread show the item as out-of-stock or back-ordered.Anyone know who has it, or have an extra they might want to sell?

If you get the 1/24 Gemini, PLEASE make sure you buy the correction kit from RealSpace Models - it makes all the difference in the world.Received the 1/48 SLA/CSM/LES model. Also ordered the correction kit from New Ware in the Czech Republic. This is its first re-release since 1994. Even though it's a Block I, it's fun to build. The 1/32 LM was never officially released. There was a resin version promised, but the "maufacturer" took the money and ran and shipped few if any at all. I'd love one, too, to match the 1/32 CSM Could do without the new Box Art from Revell, if you know what I mean. Now, I need to see if my fingers still work. The 1/48 SLA/CSM/LES was one of my favorites after the 1/96 Saturn V and the 1/24 Gemini. By the way, New Ware also sells an excellent update kit for the Saturn V which I highly recommend. This will be my first attempt at a plastic scale model kit in about six years when arthrtis decided to plant itself in exactly the wrong spot in my hands. |

Evidently the 1/24 Gemini has had a hard time making its way across the pond, I FINALLY have one that came from a US seller on eBay. There were several UK dealers that had them and lately a few Canadian ones popped up. Lots of places in the US showed them as backordered. |

I too was finally able to get one of the Gemini 1/24 scale this week from a seller on ebay. I was wanting an original and have been watching several for quite sometime but just didn't want to pay the price. I will eventually get a good deal on one but for now the one I purchased will do. Any ideas as to why it is taking so long for the re-issue kits to reach the U.S.? |

The U.S. release arrived a couple months ago. I picked one of the three up that my local hobby shop got (and the other two went out the door quick). Be aware that the kit is a limited production reissue and it sold out quick. Checking the distributor website, it appears that Revell is expecting more. The kit production run was only supposed to be 3000 units, but it appears demand has exceeded supply. Revell may have decided to do at least one more production run of it, which is a good thing in my opinion since it is such a cool kit. Part of the reason for the demand isn't necessarily due to a lot of people loving Gemini. In the UK, several of these got snatched up by studio scale model builders who wanted to use the parts in model creations, like replica Space:1999 Eagle transporters. By the way, the 1/48 Mercury and Gemini kit set is also due out this month as well according to the distributor. |

The Revell reissue of the 1/48 scale Apollo Lunar Spacecraft does not include the original "cloud base" or the lunar surface display bases. However new to this kit are water slide decals for the CM instrument panels that match the raised detail and for the CM RCS thrusters. |

I just purchased the re-release of "Apollo Lunar Spacecraft." Stay as clear from this as possible... The thickness of the plastic is weak, parts do not fit very well, the original square bases (one moonscape, one orbital) are no longer included. It's horrible!! |

I also have this kit. The plastic seems soft. However the parts have the mis-match and tooling defects as the original did. The newly added control panel water slide decals are a nice touch. Still a nice kit. Luckily I still have some extra display bases that I can use. |

Does anyone know if Revell still has the tooling for this kit and/or why this has never been re-issued? |
