Glad I'm not the only one that got a kick out of that!

The filmmakers will be releasing the Special Edition of "The Last Man on the Moon" at Spacefest:
For the opportunity to be one of the first to own "The Last Man on the Moon" Special Edition Triple Set, make sure you come and visit us at Spacefest in Tucson from 8th to 11th June. For those of you unable to attend, stay tuned for details on how you can get your hands on this incredible collection.
According to a comment on Facebook:
There are lots of extras including some really great scenes that didn't make it into the film. They have been lovingly re-edited by Mark Craig.

I purchased the Special Edition while at Spacefest and just now had the chance to watch all of the extra features and deleted scenes. Wow... that's all I can say.

Well worth the price. At this point, I've bought the DVD, Blu Ray and now this box set, having traded up each time and gifting the previous copy to friends that I know would appreciate the story, and this enhanced version doesn't disappoint from the previous iterations — even coming with a nice package of postcards with images from the film.

But those added scenes, boy, just spine tingling stuff — particularly the very last track (censoring myself here to not spoil it for you). But, if you've been pondering pulling the trigger on it, go for it. It's worth the money.
