Still haven't seen any posters of this on eBay and missed out on this.

Don't do Facebook anyways, but wow, the winner of this, very lucky indeed.

Several cities had the movie, was this the only city Eugene Cernan attended lately?

Cernan attended premieres in New York, Washington and Houston. He also attended public screenings in Houston and Dallas and took part in a Skype Q&A with the public in San Francisco.

We're excited to announce that on April 11th there will be a live Q&A link-up with Gene Cernan in cinemas across the UK. We hope you'll be able to join us on this exciting evening when we welcome Gene Cernan back to the UK. More details coming soon...
And on April 13, Gene Cernan will be attending a dinner and a screening at the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Have just acquired tickets for Gene Cernan at the National Space Centre.

You may be able to still get tickets to the dinner, which is beforehand, but VIP tickets sold out. I will also be seeing him in Pontefract on the previous Saturday but for those of you who missed out on that event this is a great opportunity.

I made enquiries of the National Space Center regarding their forthcoming Cernan event. They think Capt. Cernan may be signing copies of his book but they really don't know. It is down to the film production company Mark Stewart Productions.

If that is the case it is likely the event will be very much along the lines of the Sheffield Film Festival in 2014; also arranged in conjunction with MSP. It will be an excellent evening but copies of Gene's book were not available and there were no opportunities for autographs or personal photos.

The Space Centre's website (linked above) states:
Gene will NOT be signing autographs at the event, so please do not bring items to be signed. There is a possibility that signed copies of his autobiography will be available on the night to purchase.

Tickets for just the National Space Centre's screening are sold out, so if you want to attend you have no option but to join for the dinner as well. Which I thought was a bargain anyway.

From the filmmakers:
Due to a sudden health concern, Capt. Gene Cernan is no longer able to travel to the UK. This comes as a huge disappointment to all of us, not least Capt. Cernan, who had been looking forward to promoting the film to a UK audience. We hope that he will still be able to join us via satellite for the live Q&A on Monday 11th April and we'll keep you posted as we have news.

At least thus far, unlike the UK events' websites that were all updated to reflect the cancellations, the Australian event tickets are still for sale.

Saw it several hours ago and I'm still stunned. Absolutely phenomenal.

So much more than a space documentary. A beautifully crafted portrait of a man's life... and that man just so happened to be a naval aviator and an astronaut.

The Australian events are still on! I am delighted to report that I have it on very reliable information that Gene's medical issue was temporary, he is on the mend and resting and will make a full recovery.

I watched this last night at Vue in Portsmouth UK, complete with the Q&A afterwards. I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It was a terrific insight into the man, Gene Cernan, and his personal journey.

Laugh out loud funny at moments, and close to tears at others, I found myself seeing the human side of Gemini and Apollo.

If you want a documentary about the technicalities of flying to the moon, this is not your film. Try "In the Shadow of the Moon."

"In Last Man on the Moon" you see an ageing hero, with a twinkle in his eye, you hear from his wife, daughter and close friends.

Highlights for me were Gene explaining his helicopter crash, with the help of a charred flight helmet, his enduring, and mostly humorous friendship with "Baldy," and Gene explaining the Apollo 1 fire, from the street where they all lived.

There are clear parallels between the ageing astronaut and the US space program. It made me reminisce about the space shuttle's glory days, long gone and sprouting weeds.

I'm not sure the CG effects were needed, there is plenty of stock footage I'm sure, and it didn't really compliment the film in my opinion.

But overall, as a space fan, its a solid 9/10 from me! (And the cinema game me their only poster too!)

I would disagree, personally. They provided angles for which, in some cases, no footage is available, and I think they were a great help in illustrating certain aspects of the flight to a general audience who aren't as familiar. I was also very impressed by their quality.

I saw the film in Belfast on the big screen last week. I was very impressed — it was full of wit, humour, nostalgia, and emotion. It brought back so many memories of those exciting days. It is a sad but obvious truth that the film will outlive its subject, but what a legacy! Gene Cernan's grandchildren can treasure this film in decades to come.

Together with "In the Shadow of the Moon" and "The Wonder Of It All" it will provide an invaluable insight into Project Apollo which mere archive footage alone could not provide.

I'm looking forward to seeing this and hope the film will come back from all the foreign places it's showing to play in New England (Boston) some day. I'm surprised the 'cast' did not include General Stafford.

Great movie and good - but brief extras on the Blu-Ray. Check out the one "cleaning out garage". He has amazing flown items stored in the humidity of his garage.

Just been to see it in Northampton. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it pleases me so much that I have met many of the astronauts featured.

It was good to see the naval jets archive and the lift offs of the Titan and Saturn V's were exhilarating. Views on the Moon were terrific as well. Hearing the personal family views was done well and very touching, especially the wife of Roger Chaffee, and that part my wife found particularly interesting.

Was originally booked to see it in Leicester with Capt Cernan there for a Q&A but as that was not to be I am so glad to see it eventually on the large screen. Highly recommended.

You can get the film off Netflix. I got it and watched it.

Frankly, I just don't get the hype. I didn't get any insights into the man or his actions that I hadn't already gotten from books and programs before this.

This documentary, to me, looked like nothing more than the producer's attempt to hang around with Gene Cernan for a while, not that I could fault him for that (who wouldn't want that?). In a word; MEH.

Did you all notice that the walkout sequence in the movie's official trailer at 01:40 is not Apollo 17?

From memory, the walkout in the movie begins with "today's Gene" walking down the corridor toward the Crew Quarters exit. The door then opens into dazzling daylight as a crew, including Gene heads out.

On Apollo 17, the walkout occurred in darkness. The scene was illuminated by artificial lighting and flash bulbs.

Mark Stewart Productions went to extraordinary lengths in researching accurate archival footage in the making of the movie so I doubt the Apollo 10 walk out was an oversight.

Rather artistic licence on the part of the movie producers and done for dramatic effect.

Indeed Robert, Rick...

In fact it's amazing to find out there's little photographic footage of some Apollo era walk-outs... especially Apollo 11 and Apollo 17. They certainly didn't hang around to wave to the crowd as during the STS-era.

Finally watched the DVD tonight. What an amazing documentary of a great aviator. The extras were very well worth it, especially the one that shows the Cernans cleaning out the garage.
