Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Moon by Sara Howard If you've ever been enthralled with the space program, this is the book for you. Learn about the fascinating behind-the-scenes (and sometimes humorous) action that took the Apollo spacecraft from its early stages to the moon! This uplifting story documents the race to space that first sent Americans to the moon in 1969. Never before has the history of the Apollo program been told like this. This is the greatest achievement in the history of mankind and planet Earth and its remarkable story is dramatically told by Sara Howard, one of two women to have worked on the Saturn V as an aerospace engineer. In Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Moon, readers will learn about Apollo from the perspective of those who worked for the contractors. This is a side of Apollo that has never been told. This is the author's story and what it was like for her -- one of the 400,000 people on the ground who built the largest and most powerful rocket in history. Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Moon honors the men and women who made the space program a reality. |

I wrote a book about my experiences on Apollo. It is "Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Moon" for sale on Amazon. I have been looking for my partner and cannot find her so I guess I'm it. I have been contacted by NASA engineers at Michoud and the Cape. It is so sad that the shuttle mission is ending. I was interviewed for a podcast earlier. It is called Talking Space and is available worldwide (look on the left and find 2010 podcasts. Click on that and find Episode 224A:SARA CS A S1C). And last a video from YouTube of a S1C test. Hope you all are well! ------------------ Sara Howard |

I assume this is different than the paperback I purchased about 40 years ago titled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon"? This was also a book of short stories and what not. |

Indeed, it is different. The book you remember is by Bob Ward . (Sadly, Bart Sibrel's moon landing conspiracy DVD is titled similarly, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon." I'm purposely not linking to it -- Sibrel doesn't deserve a penny, let alone a click.) | |
