Winter, Series editor: Donald C. Elder ISBN 978-0-87703-539-8 ISBN 978-0-87703-540-4 This series is the greatest history books that no one has heard of. This volume has something for everybody with authors from around the world. part one has biographical memoirs of Irene Sanger-Bredt and Leeland Atwood of North American Aviation. Part II has presentations about the history of Liquid propellant engines in the Soviet Union, the beginnings of asphalt rocket propellants in WW II at JPL/Aerojet, and the Shisui Japanese rocket fighter in WW II. Part III describes the beginnings of what became Rocketdyne in The East Parking lot experiments of NAA in 1946-49, the history of the french and Netherlands rocket and space programs, and the Black Prince rocket. Part IV, the Space Age, includes the history of Commercial satelite services Industry and history of the Russian space suits for ISS and Russian super rockets and recovering rockets from the Australian desert. and Part 5 Space Age Prospectives includes two views about the legacies of project Apollo's worth and connectivity between French and Hamiltonian approaches to Celestial mechanics, amongst others. These presentation papers published yearly by the American Astronautical Society are incredible insights into aspects of the world Aerospace history. They are always worth the time and money. |
