There is a new coffee table picture book out at the bookstores. Beyond: Visions of the Interplanetary Probes is the book's title. The book is compilation of photographs taken by interplanetary probes of the solar system.

It is very much like the books Full Moon and Space.

The author is Michael Benson and the publisher is Abrams. It is now in Barnes and Nobles.

It is a beautiful book.

I saw it this weekend. I agree. It is a very nice book, even though it is pricey.

Don't worry Beyond will be on the discount rack in a couple of months.

The photographs are wonderful, especially after they digitally enhanced the Lunar Orbiter photographs and remove the processing strips in the complete photos.

It's the writing that will drive you nuts. Very flowery.

It is interesting that the book has one photo from a manned mission in it and it was taken by Al Worden on Apollo 15.

Aside from my passion for collecting NASA lithos, I also have a vast collection of books and will be adding this one to the library when it hits the shelves down here.
