Was honored to have met Chuck Yeager, Joe Engle and David Hartman at a talk at Edwards Air Force Base in 2000 and also met Chuck Yeager at the National Air and Space Museum in 2002 for one of his talks. Some incredible stories. What an incredible life!

From the Stafford Air & Space Museum:
Every five years to commemorate the anniversary of the X-1 flight, Chuck Yeager would return to Edwards Air Force Base and make a supersonic flight over the base on October 14th. Thomas Stafford stated, "I was the commander of the USAF Flight Test Center when Yeager celebrated the 30th anniversary of his historic flight."
When author, Bill Moore, recently asked Stafford about the photo of him and Yeager, Stafford replied, "It's the fastest man alive giving instructions to the first supersonic man." Stafford had set the all-time human speed record returning from his mission to the moon on Apollo 10 in 1969.
