That's so sad. He was one of the first Apollo guys I met in 2012. God bless.

A good man; always kind and gracious. He will be missed here on the Florida Space Coast and I recall many years ago that Capt. Gordon was kind enough to arrange a private visit/signing with me, something that I will always remember and cherish.

I was traveling back from Cocoa Beach and I just found out now. I've met him in 2016 at the Autograph Show. He was a genuinely super nice guy.

RIP.

In 2011, I had the privilege of Dick attending a dinner party at my home.

Dick was the first astronaut Julie (Mrs OWL) cooked dinner for. It was a relaxed and jovial evening with Dick recounting many stories some of which that have not been published.

He was a wonderful man with much humility and a great sense of humour. He will surely be missed by all. RIP Dick.

Harrison Schmitt has published a tribute to Richard Gordon on his website.
Dick Gordon's intelligence, skill, discipline and mentorship helped to prepare me for the challenges of being the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 17. I will be forever grateful for his guidance, patience and good humor. He will be missed, greatly.

Goodbye Captain. Glad I had a chance to meet him at the 2013 Astronaut Scholarship Fundraiser. So sad that they're all going now. Always feel bit of anxiety checking collectSPACE news nowadays.
