An aside! I reckon we space fanatics in the UK are geekier than our US counterparts: there have been lots more postings on our 'Reflections' than their ASF one, despite this being a predominantly US-oriented forum with LOTS more US members!

Hi David.... I'm not sure that your 'GEEKIER than the US' declaration is something that we should be shouting! I try regularly to 'DE-GEEK' myself but fail... I always end up checking the sites and seeing what you guys post and OOPS - I'm all 'GEEKED UP' again!

On a serious note, I have just read the previous posts about the theft at Autographica.

It seems incredible to me that such undesirable people do their utmost to spoil any event or good times that the honest and trustworthy majority of us participate in. I was horrified to hear that great twice yearly centerpiece event (for us in the UK) had been spoiled for some and has left us hoping that such people are banned for life so we can all be sure that our Autographica experience will continue to remain an exciting 'Buzzing' place full of honest collectors. If we all keep an 'Eagle-eye' out at these events we can make sure that these type of people (no matter how drunk) will not spoil it - But I guess the very fact that I have posted this means they have chipped away a little already!)

On a positive to end... I am fairly new to the cS site (regarding postings) so I am delighted to have contributed to such a great site and am always amazed at the helpful generosity of the Space Autograph fraternity! More power to you all and thanks for having me aboard!!!

regards to all
Martin

I take offence to that thank you! And would prefer it if you didn’t refer to me as being one again

You are funny, Andy! There's a whole thread on 'Freespace' where our American friends are queuing up to advance their claim as 'Top Space Geek'! Notice, also, that Martin above admits to being 'geeked up' when he reads cS!
I freely admit to being a meteorite geek! I love them! I collect them! I sell them! I lecture about them! I even dream about them!
But if you are offended, I am happy to affirm: you are definitely NOT a space geek!
