The catalog for the second PBA Galleries auction of collectible space travel books and ephemera can now be viewed online. Bidding will be open from Monday, March 15 to Thursday, March 25, 2021

Some highlights include an inscribed copy of Esnault-Pelterie's classic "Exploration by Rocket"; a 1930's publication by Russian engineer Sergei Korolev, secretive mastermind of Sputnik; scarce non-fiction publications by science fiction master Arthur Clarke; groundbreaking scientific studies on the physics of rocketry; and early issues of the postwar German Space Travel journal.

Also, secret study of the first ICBM (and spacecraft launch) rocket; scarce official reports of NASA's first decade; inscribed memoir of NASA's first administrator and the rare book by his famous successor James Webb; papers of NASA's only general manager; transcript of the first NASA-industry Apollo planning conference; and emergency rescue procedures for Mercury spacecraft.

Uncommon ephemera of Apollo 8 and 11 and the abortive Apollo 13; NASA reports on protection from extraterrestrial germs and asteroid collision; working papers of the first NASA manned Mars mission planning group; signed memoir of scientist James van Allen; and astronauts' predictions of future space travel in 2063.

On this, the seventh day of the ten-day auction, there are bids on only 20 of the 135 space books and ephemera.

If you see something of interest, a single bid may win it.

Also, unsold items will be available, after the sale, at the opening price, plus the usual buyer's premium, taxes and shipping.
