It was a nice surprise to see the advertisements for collectSPACE and "Marketing the Moon" in the auction catalog.

Thanks for noticing on the ad for "Marketing the Moon"! It was an honor to be part of the catalog for such a historic sale as the first Hasselblad in space.

Parking space: Gemini spacecraft lands at auction, escapes parking ticket

A mockup of a 1960's space capsule that was used by NASA for ground tests is set to sell for more than $20,000 — parking fees not included.

The 9.5-foot-tall (3-meter) Gemini spacecraft, which is part of RR Auction's week-long space sale ending on Thursday (Nov. 20), narrowly escaped officers giving it a ticket when it was parked in a loading zone outside the Boston auction house's salesroom on Sunday.

"I had to talk my way out of a parking ticket!" wrote Bobby Livingston, RR Auction's executive vice president, in an e-mail to collectSPACE.

Amazing... a similar Sieger cover went for 8000 Euro just two weeks ago at Felzman at the original offering estimate — no bidding.

The RR description was a bit misleading. There were quite a few (15+) sold over here in Europe in the past 20 years, I have handled four covers alone and most came with the appropriate paperwork, this was not the first with original offering as described.

In fact I still have a complete set sitting here.

The Skylab flown brass flashlight (at $4839) also opened my eyes a bit.

$10000+ for an uninscribed Irwin WSS litho must be a new record.

This is really making me stay away from auction houses except Donnis and Lunar Legacies.

Certainly a great day for the consigners. I ended up batting .000 as a buyer.

I think there were a handful of items that went at reasonable prices. But there was a lot of insane purchases here if you ask me - but then, it is a buyers market. Predictable doesn't come into the equation.

I was very pleased to get the 51L Robbins for $2000 and the Bassett letter for about $350 plus commision on both items. Very surprised and pleased they did not sell for more. Thanks...
