A friend of mine is seeking gag crew photos of the crews or failing that, the more dramatic ones, as opposed to the run of the mill portraits. For example, the STS-6 F-Troop crew photo comes to mind.

Can anyone share high resolution images of those that you may have?

While scrolling through Florida Today's photo gallery on "The Cost of Astronaut Autographs," Bob Springer has a gag photo of the (presumably) STS-61H crew, since one of the astronauts is female. Anna Lee Fisher is in a military uniform, the other four astronauts are in doctors' white coats.

Anybody have a copy of this? Which leads to the question: were there gag photos of the STS-61F and STS-61G crews, as well as of STS-62A?

Spotted on eBay (381490932195): Not one, but two gag photos of the STS-5 crew!

Is this realy the STS-5 crew? In the right I see a woman - but STS-5 had no female crew member.

Look at the background — same as STS-5's regular crew pic. They're also standing in the same order as the regular crew photo. This would explain the smiles they had...

Talk about how times have changed. Look at the PLT's hand on on second photo. Heads would roll today if something like that got out.

Which is probably why these haven't surfaced until now. Wonder what other gag photos there are that are still hidden?

So was a payload specialist ever scheduled for STS-5?

Lichtenberg and Merbold were the first two payload specialists to fly on the shuttle, and were seated side by side in the middeck. So it isn't sure which one reached orbit first; I guess the one who leaned forward the most.

But they carried out a very successful first Spacelab mission, which will be covered in an upcoming book, part of the Outward Odyssey book series. The book is 80% written, but will need a thorough editing process before it is published. The book focuses on all the payload specialists who flew up to and including STS-51L. We'd hoped this photo would remain incognito, but cS'ers miss very little.

Dennis Jenkin's new book, "Space Shuttle: Developing an Icon," 1972-2013 has many shuttle gag crew photos — I helped him find as many as we could.

The alternates are just as good, those that made it out in to community of course

There are a lot of them.

Ok, it just hit me what the PS is in the photo. Look at the toys next to the PS, the PS is also dressed like a ghost. What was the big movie of 1982? It is supposed to be E.T. from "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial."

Wasn't looking specifically for gag photos, but for NASA photos specifically, since there are many candid shots of the early shuttle missions that don't come up and/or aren't available in high-res. I want to email the seller and ask how they came across these pictures...
