Is there a list somewhere of the video cameras and their views that NASA TV cycles through used at the pads at KSC? For example, 060 seems to be used to show the beanie cap and 070 is used to show main engines. There is a classic side view that has been used for decades that doesn't show a number. Also, when Pad 39B was in use, I think the cameras has a "1" prefix of the same Pad 39A view. For example 071 was 39A and 171 was 39B. Is this correct? Some of these camera positions seem to be permanent and have been used forever. Others seem to be new or for single launches. From watching the tanking of STS-128, below is a list of the cameras NASA TV is currently cycling through: - 009 - Piping between ET and Orbiter
- 033 - Looking up orbiter and stack from lower starboard
- 041 - Front strut ET and Orbiter nose
- 060 - Beenine Cap
- 070 - Main Engine view
Current Non-Numbered views: - 3/4 view from back (ET side) of pad
- "Classic" 3 o'clock side view looking at pad and stack

I have a document titled: LC-39 Operational Television Reference Guide October 1987 that I can send you copies of if you wish. Pad-39B cameras did start with a 1 and Pad-39A cameras started with a 0. Email me if interested in copies. ------------------ John Macco Space Unit#1457 |
