Bryan, thanks again for arranging with Colonel Virts. Received my signed photos today in perfect shape and quickly after the event. Fills some gaps in my collection including crew completions.

We are participating and helping with two events in April, one at the New England Air Museum on April 1 with NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio and a One Book One College event at Cape Cod Community College on April 4. Astronaut TBD.

Come check out flown items that went into space and even to the moon. We will be displaying rare items at the New England Air Museum as well as hosting the meet and greet with the astronaut. Plus they really have some cool aircraft and other exhibits going on that day.

Want more info? Check out Sightings or email me.

Last call for people who want anything signed. Come see us in Connecticut and see a rare item or two.

We have moved our office and our website. Please check out www.ogl.space.

We are keeping it simple but we will still be doing astronaut visits to schools and do community events to help promote STEAM and human spaceflight.

(Earlier references to our former website in this thread have been updated.)

Save the Date — May 18, 2018 in Barnstable, Massachusetts at the Coast Guard Heritage Museum, meet Astronaut Dan Burbank and Bruce Melnick in person.

One Giant Leap is supporting the grand opening of the only exhibit in the world honoring the only two Coast Guardsmen to fly in space. A talk followed by a meet and greet in the museum will occur on May 18.

One Giant Leap has helped design, develop and also helped sponsor the event so come on down and check it out.

As always, OGL is looking for support. So if you have suggestions, thoughts or would like to donate to help. Please let me know.

It has been fun finding items, researching the missions they flew but I still need some ideas, items and help on showing how the shuttle arm was used. If anyone has a copy of a checklist or arm artifact, please feel free to share a photo or copy of it. Finding stuff from STS-41 and STS-49 have been tough.

We had a great event with the Coast Guard astronauts. It was the first time that they ever appear in public together.

Our next event is an exhibit at the Great New England Air Show on July 13-15, 2018. We could use some help.

  1. We need volunteers at our display/exhibit table.

  2. If anyone has any extra patches, photos, coins or other items we can display relating to the space program and the Air Force, please email me with what you have.

  3. Any links to photos or stories would be great as well.
Next, in August we will be doing a space night at the Lowell Spinners baseball game.

Happy 10 year Anniversary to us! One Giant Leap, Inc. is now 10 years old. Over 65,000 students of all ages have heard astronauts speak and hopefully were inspired to "Reach for the Stars." Without the hard work, dedication and knowledge from our board (you know who you are) OGL would not be the best space non-profit out there.

What started as a "hobby" has turned into a real passion. We have have had great support from many and we could use some help in making the next ten years even better!

Visit our website. Help us out!! Thank you. — Bryan McKay, President
