Does anyone know if the word Flare is used in the shuttle lingo? Can it also be used in a Commercial Airlines lingo?

Just before touchdown, a flare or a pull-up maneuver brings the orbiter into its final landing configuration.

I would suspect the same could be said of landing a commercial airliner.
