Hope you like it as much as I do...

Spacecraft Films' video release (via Boing Boing)

This clip is raw from Camera E-8 on the launch umbilical tower/mobile launch program of Apollo 11, July 16, 1969. This is an HD transfer from the 16mm original.

The camera is running at 500 fps, making the total clip of over 8 minutes represent just 30 seconds of actual time. Narration is provided by Mark Gray, Executive Producer for Spacecraft Films.

I am sure it looks better on the original Spacecraft Films release. Maybe everyone should purchase it.

I did. Waiting for it to arrive *does the Snoopy anticipation dance*.

The commentary is fascinating. Are those Tail Service Masts be sanded and then repainted?

This explains the dark and bright areas of flame under the F1 engines, something I've wondered about for decades! I would love to see this in HD on a big monitor, I looked on the Spacecraft Films website but could not find it - where have others purchased this? I'd prefer it on Blu ray. Thank you.

I just watched this video. I cannot help but think of the Paul Calle painting "Power to Go"
