Hello, everyone! I'm somewhat new to collecting, and I'd like to ask about the authenticity of a few of my pieces. First up, I have one of the Paul Calle Neil Armstrong prints. I got (hopefully) a really good price because the paper has some spots from age. As far as I can tell, there haven't been any forgeries with the Calle prints. But I'd love a second opinion. Here are a few photos.

Second, I purchased an Apollo 13 flown couch fabric artifact, along with the crew-signed certificate. It definitely seems authentic, but there's a cynical side of me that wonders if someone could swap out the material. So I'm uploading a few photos. I know that Fred Haise later sold some of the fabric as well. So if anyone out there has a sample, I'd love to know how well it matches mine.

The fold-out cover has a slightly glossy surface, with a matte finish inside. The fabric has a plasticy, laminated feel to it.

And third, I recently purchased a piece of thermal blanket which was said to have been flown on Columbia. It has a grommet on on side, to which a snipped electrical cable has been attached. So it definitely seems to have been used. But I'd love to confirm it - and if possible, I'd especially love to know which mission it flew on, and/or which portion of the ship it came from. The ID tag is slightly smeared, but I believe these are the numbers:

  • 7070-362167-003-NC
  • 03953-0CN-A53983
If someone knows of a way to get any details from those numbers, I'd gratefully accept your advice. Also, I've never seen a thermal blanket with a cable attached. Does anyone happen to know the purpose of that?

Thank you all for your time!

Welcome. I can comment on the Apollo 13 seat material, it's authentic as are the signatures of the crew. Matches mine perfectly, as well as others that have come to market. Nice piece, congratulations.

Your email address isn't listed in your profile, or I could send you some pictures that you can use to cross reference your piece.

Thanks so much, Jeff! I just added my email address to my profile. I would love to see the photos. I've loved the space program my whole life, but until recently I didn't realize it was possible to own things like this, so collecting flown artifacts is still new to me. I'm hoping to learn a lot more about it here.
