There is a Silver Snoopy up for auction on eBay currently (4/2/15) that is listed as belonging to "John Bryson". I did a search of NASA's Silver Snoopy database and did not find this name. Also, the seller does not mention if it was flown. Is the NASA database only for those award that were flown? The item does have a letter, but not the Silver Snoopy award letter. |

Unfortunately, NASA's honoree database is not complete. Also, while official flight kit manifests show that pins were flown during the shuttle era, there is now some reason to believe that most Apollo-era pins were not flown. |

Robert, could you expand on why there is a belief that the Apollo era pins were not flown? Thanks. |

See the discussion starting here. We know that at least 374 Silver Snoopys were awarded during the Apollo years (per the NASA online database) but based on crew accounts, there were at most 75 to 100 pins flown. |
