I have finally decided to start clearing out autographs that I don't really need anymore. I have decided to list everything on eBay with a low starting bid of .99 cents for everything. There are a few things that I have listed and will continue to list that I invested heavy on. So my loss and your gain. My username for eBay is the as it is for here: Garyd2831

Happy bidding

I understand that where you sell to is a personal choice and that the postal system can be difficult to deal with. I would think you are missing part of your market and buyers by only selling to the US.

Simply my personal opinion from a collector in Oz.

I can ship overseas, it just can be a hassle sometimes. If you are willing to accept responsibility for the transaction through the USPS and your corresponding Postal Services, I will ship an item anywhere. I had a bad experience shipping an item to Florian Noller a couple of years through the USPS with tracking only to have it lost in Germany's Customs Dept and then returned to me 2 months later.

I prefer to use FedEx because I can see its movement but its not cheap. To send a litho last year to Mike-Moonspans, it was about $70US or so.

I will work with any fellow cS member, just I don't put a lot of faith in the USPS sometimes.

That's fine but for us to bid you need to open up worldwide shipping.

That is fine, but we can't bid unless you open up worldwide shipping on the actual auction itself.

It will not allow me to click on the international shipping option. I'm not really sure how that all works because I don't really sell anything on eBay. I will keep trying to fix it so that you can bid.

Okay, you can bid and I will work with you on the actual shipping of any of the items you win. This applies to all international bidders. I don't have an international shipping price available because it varies depending on where in the world you reside.

The $5 shipping is for domestic shipping only in the lower 48 states.

I'm flexible and easy to work with. You can bid with confidence, you will receive your items.

I'm not going to add an estimated guess to what the shipping will be to ship internationally. I say it will cost $30 and in reality is its $45, I'm out on the shipping. I will only charge whatever the actual cost to ship it economy class internationally.

No, Gary. I mean you need to activate International Shipping on your eBay listing. Click Revise and then go down to Postage, the option is there. It will ask you to put a figure in, just put anything, it doesn't really matter.

In addition I spoke with eBay and they stated I have no restrictions on international bidders. Also because the auction has started and bids have been placed on most items, I cannot change anything other than the description.

In a nutshell, If you win and you live outside the lower 48 states, I will go to the post office with your winning items that have been paid for, retrieve the shipping quote to your destination and email you back with it. You can then just send the funds (I will minus the $5 shipping fee currently listed from the total) via PayPal.

I will ship the items economy class, which generally means no tracking and you will have to accept the responsibility of your postal service delivering them to you. Once it leaves JFK airport, I have no way of really tracking them. This is why I prefer FedEx... you get what you pay for... Service.

Ah, so you can't edit the listing. Nobody outside the US will be able to bid (literally). But thanks for trying!

A workaround I have successfully used in the past is to get the eBay seller to place you on his 'Buyer Requirements Exemption List'. This should allow you to place a bid on any of his items and you can then sort out the postage costs later. A bit of extra work for the seller but opening up an auction to international bidders should profit him in the end, or at least one would hope so.

The only way I can change it (from what eBay told me this morning) is before a bid is placed. I will keep trying to fix whatever blocking is taking place, but according to eBay, there are none. I will try again.

Gary: navigate here.

At the bottom of the page are the instructions for exempting chosen buyers from any restrictions on bidding. If you can ask rgarner for his eBay user id and add him to the list, he should then be able to bid. Hope that helps.

Apparently, I have to join this Global Shipping program in order to ship and allow international bidders to bid on the items I have on eBay.

That seems to be the issue I'm having.

I'm actually getting a little frustrated with this whole shipping thing.

I had some of these items listed once before here on cS a while ago and no one was interested. Now everyone wants me to ship internationally and do all this stuff to figure it out.

I'm really a collector and not a seller and I will try to figure it out, but I have a lot of other things going on today and don't have the time be on eBay all day trying to figure this one out.

If you don't have time Gary then don't do it. It was merely a request. It is always hit and miss whether anyone wants to buy internationally, but some of us do. Its the price one pays to be a collector.

Tonight starting around 8pm EST, my auctions will start ending. There is a lot of great material to be had to include the Aldrin, Collins & McCandless signed Apollo 11 Patch Red Number Litho. It is sitting a mere $26 and change.

Based on the latest discussion regarding Aldrin's signing fees, this litho would cost you over $1,100 dollars if you were to have it signed in the order of the upcoming signings this year: Collins, Aldrin and if McCandless signing for ASF later this year.

A lot of great stuff for someone who is beginning or would like something new to add.

This is my loss both in my collection and investment and your gain. Enjoy.

Gary, is the STS-7 photo of Challenger hand signed by the crew, or is it an autopen? If hand signed can you offer details?

Thanks, Tim

I tried to bid but the system didn't allow me to do it. It was strange because before I used to be able to bid but not to pay. For payment I had to wait for the total from a seller. This time this approach didn't work.

May be you can solve this problem before the next listing. Just a wish.

Your very welcome. I try to be fair when possible.

I should be listing a few more items tonight. Some will start at a little higher price, but most will be at .99 cents.

No problem laz2001. I can ship it directly to you if you like. Just have to to the post office to determine shipping following the end of the auction.

For anyone from other countries, try MyUS.com. I use it every week. It eliminates missing your litho from people that only sell to US. You also don't have to rely on other people!

Just a reminder that my eBay auction items end tonight. Still nice items to be had at some great prices.

All times are CT (US)
