I am looking to purchase a signed 8x10 Ron Evans signed photo. If anybody has a inscribed photo available to sell I would be very interested. (I am not interested in any WSS or crew photos.) Thanks. |

Astro-Auction was selling items from the Evans collection a few years ago and the only uninscribed photos of Ron were a couple of business suits. I've never seen any other solo pix. It would be in five figures anyway. |

Five figures? you've gotta be kidding. at that price I'd consider selling my uninscribed Evans WSS.

Five figures is way out of my pay scale. That said, has anybody a inscribed photo they would consider selling (but has to be unpersonalized)? |

I paid over $11K for an uninscribed and unpersonalized Irwin WSS litho in 2000. It's the only one I've ever seen. |

I have seen two signed EVA photos for sale in the last year. One was from a cS member for around $950 and another from a dealer for approx $1500. Both were unpersonalized but at the time I didn't have the cash.Since Kim posted his comment I have received a email from a seller trying to offer me a signed Evans for $10000. I had to decline |

I am talking about an UNinscribed, UNpersonalized, signed NASA WSS Litho. Evans- never seen one. Irwin- I have the only one I've seen, and it cost me plenty. We sold several Evans EVA photos at Astro-Auction for a few hundred ea. |

I have an Evans uninscribed, unpersonalized NASA WSS litho. Not worth anywhere near 10K. I have not got an Irwin, but I have seen 6 for sale over the years and all have been between 3-6K except one. |

Sorry, but if you paid that much you were ripped off. |

I'd like to see that Evans WSS. Even his wife and daughter had never seen one.As for the Irwin, there was a rather heated bidding war (Superior auction) so I'm sure it got inflated. But it's PERFECT. Gerry Montague was with me. |

Well I purchased it off Gerry Montague, and his integrity is without question. I'm certain it is authentic. I also remember one example being sold in the last space RRauction. Gerry has also sold another to my knowledge. |

Don't think so. I have no doubt it's authentic, but hardly a match. Yes, Gerry has integrity, but he's not infallible. None of us are. (The RR page was a 404, but I believe you) one of them is certainly authentic. But this really IS the first WSS I've seen unpersonalized. I stand corrected. |

On the trail of the apocryphal uninscribed Irwin and Evans here are mine: Purchased on Astro Auction for less than $1,000. And Evans. Not sure of source and no, a personalisation has NOT been removed! |

I'm not trying to compete with you, but I'm also looking for an Evans EVA photo. I don't care if it's inscribed or not. What I don't want is a date on the photo other than the date the photo was taken. |

I had about a dozen Irwins, most of them unpersonalized. I just kept writing him and he keft sending them to me. Over the past 40 years, most of the signatures have faded to almost nothing. I kept the photos in my closet away from the light, but they faded anyway, probably because of the low quality pen he used. The only photos I have where I can read the signatures is the one of him beside the flag (made out to me) and an unpersonalized photo of Irwin at the Rover at the end of EVA 1 with Hadley Delta(?) in the background. The faded signatures can still be seen if you look at them in direct sunlight.I also have an unpersonalized Evans on a photo that I took through the TV during his EVA. I won't tell you how many times I've kicked myself for not asking for a signed litho. I'd like to buy one myself, but I can't see spending that kind of money on something I already sort of have. |
