I thought members of this group would be interested in a unique item that they may like to add to their collections. The material is made to simulate the lunar regolith and is used by NASA, universities and companies designing spacesuits and equipment to be used on the lunar surface (and asteroids) because it accurately simulates the abrasiveness, texture and particle size of actual lunar material. It consists of plagioclase feldspar, CA-pyroxene, olivine and basalt glass with traces of titanomagnetite and chromite. It's contained in a high-quality, scientific grade glass vial that will keep out moisture and not alter the chemistry of the simulant.

I bought this material over 7 years ago and it is no longer available to the public. I'm asking $15 for a full vial, or $10 for half a vial of material. You can keep it in the vial for display or use it to give models a more realistic appearance. For example on models that have a lunar surface base you can spray adhesive on the base and sprinkle the simulated lunar regolith on it or apply it to the spacesuit of models of an Apollo astronaut so the suit looks like the astronaut has been working on the lunar surface.

I can send a photo of what a vial of material looks like. The supply is very limited so if you're interested please let me know. My e-mail address is: randyconstantin@yahoo.com.

Is this JSC-1, JSC-1A, or which production line? Thanks.
