Congratulations to former astronaut Hoot Gibson for his second place finish in the Unlimited Gold Final Race at the Reno Air Races on Sunday (Sept. 16).

He flew the Hawker Sea Fury "September Fury" at an average speed of 456.746 unofficial over 8 laps to finish second behind Steve Hinton in the P51 Strega.

I am glad to see it was a safe race weekend for all. Congrats Hoot.
