The New York Times will host actor Ed Harris ("John Glenn" in The Right Stuff, "Gene Kranz" in Apollo 13) on September 9, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at TheTimesCenter in Manhattan. The event is part of their on-going series of Times Talks:
As the director, co-writer and co-producer of the new film "Appaloosa," which he also appears in, this multi-talented Oscar-nominated actor proves the Western is a great American art form.

Ed Harris has certainly had some great roles- those two with regard to space, underwater adventure in "The Abyss," the tortured life of Jackson Pollack-- and many more. But I especially remember him for playing a small town reporter in a little independent film he did about 20 years ago called "A Flash Of Green." It blew the whistle on big money developers moving into Florida to destroy 'paradise'.... and its predictions have certainly come to pass.
