Hi Friends:It is with sadness that I report the passing of Gen Bob Scott, WWII ace who wrote "God is My Co-Pilot." I received an e-mail from a small group of his friends this morning just down the road in Warner Robins, GA. Gen. Scott was born and raised here in Macon and helped found the Robins Museum of Aviation. He bought his first airplane- a WWI surplus Curtiss Jenny- here and towed it home behind his bicycle. He was well into his 90s. Godspeed, Bob. Well done. Rob |

Both he and his book were highly inspirational. He will be missed, but his legacy and his book will endure for a long time to come.Colin |

He will be sadly missed. General Scott was kind enough many years ago to send me (unsolicited) a beautiful Flying Tiger X-mas card along with a 8x10 of him climbing into a F-15 (with a big smile on his face!).He sent these items after my request for him to sign my copy of his book earlier in the year. Talk about a cool X-mas surprise! |

Gen. Scott was a funny, gracious, and humble man. I was fortunate to meet him on more than one occassion and he was always so lively and energetic. He was a true American hero. |
