A couple of weeks back, Jerry Linenger was on our Washington-Dulles to Detroit Metro flight. During our very brief conversation at Detroit Metro he told me that he will be on MSNBC for their Return to Flight coverage.

Being that he's an astronaut from my state (Michigan), that is reason enough for me to watch MSNBC. Does anyone else know of other astronauts assisting with RTF coverage on other networks?

Mr. Linenger paid a visit to the downtown NASM while here in DC, totally unannounced, but of course myself and one other Docent recognized him.

Just to wrap up the astronaut count, also seen at the press site: Ken Cockrell, Rick Hauck, Nick Patrick, Cady Coleman, Pam Melroy, John Glenn, Scott Parazynski, Steve Maclean, Bill Nelson, Tom Jones, and Jim Voss. There were a few others but I only caught passing glimpses.

Gene Kranz was there too, on behalf of the Coalition for Space Exploration.

Scott, If you're ever in Eastpoint Michigan, Make sure and stop at the McDonalds at 9 mile rd. Between Kelly and Gratiot Ave. They have paid a great tribute to there hometown hero Dr. Jerry Linenger. Lots of great pictures of his trip to the Russian station MIR.

All times are CT (US)
