Space Cover 637: Private Space Cachet

You know the story of Soviet club covers? Of cause everybody knows that – from about 1960 till 1965 the clubs in different locations issued thousands of cachets.

Well, do you know that the 'club movement' continued in 70s and 80s? Though those were dark years for private initiatives. Still philatelic enthusiasts used all available means to get events commemorated – some for money, others for self-expressions. Anyways. There were several cases of public and legal suits and some resulted in criminal charges and jail time.

This simple cover, that majority have seen/own, shows a private rubber stamp that eventually ended up in a court.

All times are CT (US)
