Space Cover #544: Navstar-1 Launch

The space cover of the week commemorates the launch of the first Rockwell International developed navigational satellite Navstar-1 on February 22, 1978 from Vandenberg AFB, Ca. from Pad-SLC-3E. Satellite was injected into a 12580 by 12770 mile orbit inclined 64.5 degrees by the Atlas-F launch vehicle.

Cover was serviced by the Rockwell Space Division Stamp Club and was autographed by GPS Program Manager, Richard Schwartz and GPS Chief Engineer, Charles Helms.
