Virgin Galactic's first commercial spaceflight, Galactic-01, will support the Italian Air Force and National Research Council's space research mission, Virtute 1. The crew includes Col. Walter Villadei, Lt. Col. Angelo Landolfi, Pantaleone Carlucci and Colin Bennett. Piloting Unity will be Mike Masucci and Nicola Pecile. Virgin Galactic has not yet released a Galactic-01 patch (if one even exists) but the Italian Air Force has shared and the crew has worn a Virtute-1 mission patch. |

The Galactic 02 crew did wear a mission patch (based on Thumbs artwork above) and the patch appeared on the webcast covering up the Apple logo on the lid of a MacBook Pro: |

It is a mystery to my why Virgin Galactic does not make these commercially available. |

From Virgin Galactic (via X) a first look at the Galactic-04 mission patch: At the core of the design lies a prominent purple moon, with each astronaut holding a unique connection to it. Astronaut 017 draws inspiration from the Moon Landings, Astronaut 018 crafted an award-winning piece inspired by it, and Astronaut 019 proudly represents Pakistan, a nation whose flag features the Moon symbolizing progress. |

Galactic 05 patch description from Virgin Galactic: What's in a patch? For the Galactic-05 mission, it’s all about the science! The design features the universal symbol of science at the apex, a horizontal line that symbolizes the infinite possibilities of suborbital research exploration, four blue pillars representing STEM, and a silhouette of a young girl that embodies the aspirations of the next generation. |

It not a sale, but Virgin Galactic was giving out (or rather awarding) Galactic-02 mission patches at the Las Cruces Air and Space Expo this past weekend (per a post on the Facebook Space Hipsters group). |

The International Institute for Astronautical Sciences, which is the sponsor for Kellie Gerardi's flight, recruited freelance artist Tom Foltz to design their patch for Galactic 05 (the same patch Gerardi can be seen holding in her photo with Alan Stern). Get to know our IIAS-01 research spaceflight mission patch: - The color palette represents the painted desert of the American Southwest in New Mexico at Spaceport America where the launch will take place.
- The pentagon represents both the five primary IIAS mission participants — Gerardi, Gonzalez, Persad, Pandya, and Reimuller — and Virgin Galactic flight #5.
- The nine-pointed sunrise symbolizes everyone in IIAS over the 9 years of its existence and the beginning of a new era.
Converging on the sunrise are the four main mission objectives: - An EKG pulse for the Astroskin biomonitor: Yvette Gonzalez, Co-PI.
- A fluid cell: Aaron Persad, Co-PI.
- A droplet of blood with a stylized glucose molecule inside: Shawna Pandya, Co-PI.
- The globe represents the worldwide IIAS research community: Dr. Jason Reimuller, IIAS Founder.
- Eight stars are the colleagues and family supporting Kellie Gerardi's spaceflight.
- The star in the spaceship represents Kellie Gerardi, the first IIAS Researcher to fly into space!

A still from a video released by Virgin Galactic shows a display of all five Galactic flight patches, as well as what may be a patch for Unity 25 (it appears to match the patch the crew wore, but hasn't been seen clearly to date): |

Visit the IIAS website to learn how you can get your very own! It looks like Astronautical Sciences is out of IIAS-01 patches, as they only offer stickers with their donations now. |

From Virgin Galactic (via X): Introducing the Galactic-07 mission patch! This design embodies the unity and spirit of our crew. It features an atom at the apex symbolizing the scientific research taking place on the spaceflight, angel wings to represent love of the skies, and six stars representing our six astronauts. This patch proudly symbolizes our shared journey and aspirations. |
