SpaceX Commercial Resupply Services-2 patchSpaceX's third unmanned Dragon capsule to fly to the International Space Station (ISS) — the second of 12 under NASA's Commercial Resupply Services contract — will deliver about 1,200 pounds (544 kg) of supplies for the Expedition 34 crew and experiments to be conducted aboard the orbiting laboratory. Launch of the CRS-2 (SpX-2) mission is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. EST (1510 GMT) on March 1, 2013, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. |

A very beautiful patch. I hope they offer this one on their website's store. |

Ditto. It would be a shame to have gotten one of their limited sets and then not be able to stay current with their launches. |

Maybe they will release a Part 2 (2013) set for the next batch of launches. |

I emailed the SpaceX store a couple of weeks ago and stated exactly that when requesting they offer these patches on their store's website. I have yet to receive a reply. I am keeping my fingers crossed. |

I spoke with a staff member at the Kennedy Space Center Gift Shop this afternoon asking if they had any new SpaceX merchandise for tomorrow's launch. The nice staff member stated they only had the five items listed on the store's website that they have been carrying. I was told that the store would only be selling the five items currently listed with no future plans for future missions. |

Wow. They're missing some real marketing opportunities there. Not that umanned supply mission patches will be a hot item among the general public, but a mission as a mission and someone's gonna want one of all those mission patches. Such an opportunity, lost. |

The Visitor Complex can only sell what SpaceX provides them.According to a company spokesperson, SpaceX does not have embroidered patches of the CRS-2 mission emblem. The patch is not available for sale, or being distributed at the launch site to media or guests. |

Does this mean the manned flights will have two patches as well? |

They are listed on eBay, though they appear to be unauthorized knock-offs.I would suggest waiting for SpaceX to offer the patch, if they do. |

Look, we all love the SpaceX patches but how do we as collector get across to them that they are missing an opportunity in not selling them at the web shop? Can they not see by the way the last patches set sold out on them how big a market there is for them out there? We keep asking if they are going to sell them but some times get no come back. Please, has someone an in with SpaceX to get them to see it? |

The market is tiny. They are a rocket company, not a space memorabilia company. Their customers pay millions of dollars for launch services. At the most, they might sell a few thousand dollars of patches. Also, the speed at which the 2012 patch sets sold can be partially attributed to their being limited edition. An open-ended offer would have most certainly slowed the rate of orders. |

Jacques, where did you get the original? If SpaceX hasn't released them and all the ones I've seen on eBay have been Malaysian (or other) made knock-offs, how did you happen to get an original? I'm not saying it's not, it would just be interesting to hear how you scored a real one! |

The photo on spacepatches.nl comes from a lucky guy working within the Dutch space sector. His boss gave him the patch that was presented to him while in contact with SpaceX, so this definitely is an original. |

Very cool indeed. I think it's safe to say that's a rare patch! |
