Thank you! Both for the advice and warning. I think I will just leave it together.

You know, given how people seem to value these models by how many have become damaged through the years, you'd think Franklin Mint might see that there is demand for a new round of them to commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversaries.

I'd be in.

I’m not normally a model collector but thought I'd take a gamble and picked up one of these on eBay UK for the princely sum of $55 so that brings the figure down by one. Sadly, it came minus any paperwork or box and has the usual broken/mislaid antennas and a missing section in one of the landing struts but apart from that, looked in pretty good condition.

I'd like to know if any of these missing pieces are commercially available or would I be better off scratch building them to match what would have been there originally? Alternatively, are the Monogram 1:48 LEM kit parts a reasonable substitute or would I be better off accepting the piece for what it is and leaving things as they are? Any advice gratefully received.

Send some photos of what you have and I will take a look in my "parts" box. If I have them I will send them to you.

Courtesy of a crumbling flag on my model, I purchased two decal 1/48th sheets from the States containing that transfer and many many others.

Overload, should anyone need one that I'll never need, shout and happy to help.
