Post pics of your contractor models so we can all enjoy!

Most of the following pics were emailed to me by the owners. Others were saved pictures over the years.

Below is a couple of photos of a large scale J-2 engine. It is an old model that has some new history as this is the "Simplified J-2". It is the J-2X that will power the second stage of the Ares I . From the NASA web site " The J-2X is an evolved variation of two historic predecessors: the powerful J-2 engine that propelled the Apollo-era Saturn IB and Saturn V rockets, and the J-2S, a simplified version of the J-2 developed and tested in the early 1970s but never flown." There are two photos, one that has a scale to you can get a feel for the size, and another unobstructed view.

BTW - If anyone has any information or pictures of the real J-2 Simplified I would appreciate the info.

These came from the latest Regency-Superior auction of 'c.1970's Model Parts & Pieces'. Some very nice stuff including some very early Douglas shop models!

The Thor model has a detailed engine that has swiveling vernier thrusters and rotating engine nozzle, the interior detail goes well past the black bands at the base. Close up follows.

This group includes unfinished wood models of Titan 1, Polaris, Juno and Minuteman missiles as well as large sections of Saturn IV stages. Other items are various Agena stages, thruster nozzles, payload shrouds and reentry vehicles. The white box is some kind of multiple rocket launcher that was marked MDAC.
